What is your favorite SNES emulator?

If that question was asked months ago, I would have said ZSNES, but since I played Chrono Trigger I switched to Snes9x and I like it more. ZSNES is faster, but Snes9x has more accurate emulation and it especially shows with music. It's sound is WAY better than ZSNES and stuff. However, I still use ZSNES for recording because NONE of Snes9x's codecs will let me play at more than 5 fps (except one of them, but it looked lo blurry I couldn't even tell where Mario was).

The only thing I don't like of Snes9x is its lack of rewind feature (not talking about savestates). I often save-kill myself by savestating at the same time I'm being killed. In Snes9x, I have to actually die, while in ZSNES I press rewind and I'm safe.
For playing games, ZSNES is my emulator of choice - I like its interface and its full-screen capabilities.

(that's not to say I don't value accuracy - I still try to make my hacks work on real hardware - it's just that I grew accustomed to ZSNES and it works for most purposes.)

ZSNES all the way. The others can't really run on my PC. Probably because my PC sucks that bad.

This as well. Even though I mostly don't care much about Snes9x/bsnes, I do make sure it works on the former so everyone can enjoy, hopefully.

Hard question... I can't play at full speed on bsnes, snes9x destroys my ears every time I try to use it and zsnes does not support some games... however I use zsnes to test things in my hack and to extract SPCs, so... *votes zsnes*
Personally I don't really have a favorite emulator as I haven't tried the others (Nor do I really know the difference.) I guess ZSNES is just what I happen to download first and it's worked just fine for me since then.

So yeah voting ZSNES.

I personally like ZSNES because it mostly what I started off using so I'm familiar with it, it was the only emulator that ran on my slow computer at the time, and I love the rewind function ^_^

I voted for Snes9x, though I might be biased because it's the only one that runs well on Mac OS X. Still, I prefer it because I think it has a good balance between performance, intuitiveness, and accuracy.

Come on guys.

Also voting ZSNES.
Want to see some of my cool swords? Well, too bad, right now you only get to see one of them, and it's my avatar. Might set up some kind of gallery/portfolio at some point, though.
This is all a clever plan for Kieran to know which users to ban and which users to keep on SMWC, which is why I voted Bsnes.... #fim{@w@}

In all seriousness, Zsnes is just to easy too boot up and have fun with my SNES controllers than the other two emulators. If versions matter, I love v1.36 than the other two because it just runs things smoother. I also never had problems with the number of games that shouldn't work on Zsnes (1.36) that do have chips in them. Also the rewind function is just that option that exists for the sake of saving humanity (or something) and it does its job pretty well.

*throws can at Henix* Did you learn anything from what Ultimaximus said in the elitism thread?

Edit: SnemulDS gets the honorable mention as a favorite portable emulator of mine.
I wonder what a HFD opcode would do in ASM...

I'd choose lsnes if it was there, but seeing as it's not, Snes9x all the way.

If you don't know what lsnes is, it's an emulator with a BSNES core, but with usability and interface closer to Snes9x's.

ZSNES. Only one that works on my PC. Also I juts like to use it. Lot's of nice features.

I really don't care for "accuracy" really, I make hacks just to make levels for people to play and enjoy... :3
ZSNES is easily my favorite because you can play just about any game with it. Only problem is that the sound emulation is inaccurate. Other than that, it's pretty much a masterpiece.

Yeah, well, these seem to be the main 3, which is what this is about.
I'm going to say zSNES. The reason being that it's the only one that actually works on my laptop as far as I know.

If we ever need to get to this... ugh!
Anyway, i clicked Zsnes because it is what i actually use... for testing my Mario mod. I thought BSNES would have been a good choice, but i still need to know what earlier version is not crap regrading interface. I would use BSNES for normal games, now, since ZSNES sucks on Earthworm Jim 2. Which BSNES version would be suitable and with a good interface that lets you change the window size?

It's a tough call, as each one of these has a useful feature that the other two do not. Most of the time, to play games which don't use special chips, I use ZSNES, due to its rewind function. For games that do use special chip, as well as the times when I need to disassemble code, I use bsnes. To record footage from games, I use Snes9x.

(I voted for bsnes.)
SNES9x is seemingly the only emulator I can find that doesn't skip frames every couple seconds on my computer, so I guess that would have to be my favorite.
