Yoshi's amazing adv. - by Ultradragonyoshi

[download zip]

Pretty good hack, although there were several errors and it could be much better with a bit of work.

First off, you submitted only one single screenshot. It's highly recommended to submit more screenshots, showing different aspects of your hack, different levels, submaps, title screen etc.

- the gray Yoshi could be colored much better.
- after the message came up, the layer 3 background disappeared.

The P-Switch disappeared here from Yoshi's hands. Probably a sprite memory error?

The Ghost House entrance look pretty ugly - no offense - with these bright yellow (and on the top of that, flashing) colors.

There could be a lot of improvements to the main OW. There weren't any layer 2 events which makes the map bland and a bit boring, and the houses and other stuff were cutoff.

The Entrance FG/BG index is way too low here and there. This diagram should help.

- Bullet Bills shooting out of nowhere...?
- also, sorry, but this level was really annoying and didn't make really sense. Just randomly picking a route that has 33% chance of being the right path, and if you mess up once, you start from the beginning...I'd highly recommend totally redesigning this particular level.

This was quite an easy 3UP Moon, wasn't it?

When I go into a pipe...

...I should also come out of a pipe.

Blank messages.

If I'm not mistaken, these "jumping block" enemies didn't kill you originally when you just jumped on them. The player could be confused and think that here it works just like in the original SMB3.

Not a big deal, but the flag is floating in the air there. (but I really liked the gimmick with the pyramid here!)

Why STAR ROAD? Also, the white outline of the house looks pretty out-of-place here.

About your level design: I mostly liked it and it was pretty fun most of the time, but there were just so many flat and bland places, where the player just runs and nothing happens.

Also, this screen leads me to...

...level 0! yay. You should have tested the hack better before submitting.

So, as you can see, there are lots of stuff to be fixed, but once you're done, this could be a fun and enjoyable hack to play.
Hadron rights! He's one of our best hack mods! Level 0... wtf

This screen confuses me. The white castle stone blocks in the BG look solid and the window on the right looks odd where it is. Plus the status bar is difficult to read due to the white text being on the chequered FG.
