I just chose a random thread for this.

How about adding Approval Logs? When a hack is accepted, it quietly goes into the hack archive with only the front page saying it's accepted. This would be a good way to show that a hack has been approved and is in the hack folder. Also, it would be an easy way to say things that should be improved in a later update.

Unless the approval log provided tips on how they can improve they're level design or just suggestions, I think a approval log would kind of be pointless since the recently released hacks are on the main page. (Or they can sort by recently released in the hacks section.) Not everybody checks the these forums (Unless directed here due to a hack being rejected.)

For a warning system, I guess the mods (or perhaps the bots) could PM you when your hack gets accepted, but that's just it. There's no need to create a thread once a hack is accepted only saying 'your hack was accepted' and small aditional notes. If the mod wants to say something about the hack, a review in the hack might work.

Besides, like EG mentioned, that's not SO quietly. There's the latest hacks list on the main page, and warn a new hack twice would be pointless. That's an excellent place to those who want to play something new BTW.

E: fixed typo.
Alright. Looks like I'll just have to check the Main Page.

I actually thought of this before, but that's as far as I've gotten. Instead of an 'Approval log' there's an 'Improve log' where the hack gets accepted, but still has some minor errors that should be fixed in the future marked as optional. Of course this would mostly benefit the longer hacks since there's a little more leeway than the shorter ones. But I don't think this idea would grab.

I think a PM saying "Your hack didn't suck too badly! Good job!" would be good
Maybe if you submit it as a demo?

No offense, but your hack is so bad that I won't even list all the problems I found.

You'll seriously need to do these before submitting a hack again:
- Read the Hack Submission Guidelines
- Watch this video

- Read other hack submission logs
- Read AxemJinx's level design guide

Let's see the most crucial problems...

Unchanged title screen level and the whole screen looks bad with these letters on it.

Am I the only one who doesn't really understand what you wanted to say here..?

You could use something else beside cement blocks to build your levels.

Cutoff, bad palettes all over the place.

Super flat and boring level design.

And suddenly Kaizo.

Welcome! In this strange land we find that there is not much known about this place, just that there are bad guys that need killing. Have fun!

That would probably be a better message though I don't get why you'd use a story like that. Also, Yoshi's postbox appears to be golden meaning that palette 6 has been used and the postbox glows making it look weird.
thank you for your suggestions especially Hadron for the helpful links I will use them to try and make a normal level ... get bored and make another insane hack because well that's how I am if any of you thought the level was difficult that's because I made it that way as in the warring I agree that the intro sucked but I don't know how to change that I will try and find out how and as for the screen shot yeah it is misleading and again I am sorry it was suppose to be for the real hack but like I said i suck at normal level making and get bored easily. but here is the one question I want to know was it at least as hard as Kaizo. oh and the mail box was suppose to be gold I found it funny

DOOOM
Note that if you would rather make Kaizo levels than normal levels, there is a Kaizo hack forum where you can submit Kaizo hacks.

don't click this link...
Also another note that Kaizo isn't just Fluncher Spam.
