SMW Cubed!

Hi guys- I'm a newbie hacker and I have started work on a hack! I have a release date of Christmas it because I work slow. It is called:

SMW Cubed!

The plot right now is secret- if you must you can read it!
The intro text says: "Welcome! This is Yoshi Island. Once again it seems that Renzor has invaded again, so you must stop them!"


This hack will be a short, maybe 2 or 3 world hack, and right now I have about half of the first world done! Picture time!

Level 1- Forest Pass
This level is ment to be a basic introduction- as you can see!



The first "forest" area is littered with clappers! Oh my! Oh, and P-Switch bridges!


This is now the "pass" area!
Now to end the level!

Now, my overworld will be short edits of others- as you can see here!

Now, a quick sneek-peek at the second level!

I hope you liked this sneek peek, and the next update will be in a week when the second, third and fourth levels are finished! For now, tally-ho!
Yup, that's not any bad for a starter! The hack looks simple, even though well made. Naturally, there are things that could be improved though:

It's not a good idea to make anything blatantly. Start them from scratch, I'm sure you can do something decent taking some effort. ;)

Also, that's not related but change on ZSNES the format of the pics from BMP to PNG; it loads quicker.

So why the empty numb?
Pretty good! A couple things though:

1. What Austin said.

2. More decoration, please.

3. Try not to do many P-Switch bridges. They can get annoying and can ruin a level if you drop one.

4. You don't need so many munchers.

5. Put some thin pipes in front of the very large ones, or Mario will be able to get caught inside. Take a look at 105, for example.

Other than that, good work!

I guess blatant edited overworlds are not good as Austin said. Just make a new OW with decorations and no perspective errors.

If you're new, or have a hack that's outside the norm, no one will pay any attention. My hack barely ever got any replies, still doesn't, and I've been here since June.

I REEEEEALLLY hope you used the Fade Fix Patch, because Tides don't work with the Goal Tape (screws up the fade out)

Other then that looks good (except the ending segment looks a bit like a blatant edit of Level 3). Keep it up!

EDIT: Edited the ending to a better way to grab the 5th Yoshi Coin- sprite buoyancy was screwed over!

Um... this has always been a palette of the original Super Mario World. I don't think it looks bad.

Well, it really isn't a blatant edit of 102, it is really a different level, as I did do Control + Delete, so really it isn't.

Just as a question- are you looking forward the demo in 15 hours?

Flop to victory!
I've played this hack and I have to say - pretty good! A few things I noticed though:



If I try to get those coins, it looks like there is an off-screen ledge though it's not, leading to my death.



A little hard to get those coins as Big Mario.



Cutoff under the pipe.
