Yeah... sorry, not happening. Sometimes it's just about looking good, not being realistic.

Later.

Moving the door handles down like you did seems to make it better as they can just be explained as oversized door, but yeah, the windows would still look better with the smaller version
Layout by LDA during C3.
Maybe 1 pixel higher should be better. the dark part around the grab handle seems to touch the bottom of the door.

Oh, and I'm working on a secret project.
I still don't understand why they can't just be the size of two regular doors side by side.

He did get your point, but he won't redraw something to make it more realistic. By that logic, koopas should be resized to be 16x16 and walking in four legs and a patch that makes Mario jump one 16x16 block at most should be inserted to the room. I do think the windows are a bit big, but it's not something that would make me have a sense of displeasure. For me, the door can stay like that.
The door looks find to me; everything in video games is comically large anyway. Point in case:

That bush is the size of a two-story house. No one has ever complained about it.

I do agree that the windows could probably afford to be scaled down a bit, though.
I should get a new layout.

Probably won't, though.

and that tomato is larger than mario's head #ab{~:o}
Nope.

Windows are fine. I asked for it. I specifically asked for "two story windows".

Here is the mockup I made in response to WYE in a PM:

It's fine and dandy and works for my idea.

Because it looks incredibly stupid beside overly huge chairs, tables, and umbrellas. And the fact that I asked for huge doors, similar to Ghost House and Castle doors.
And even if we did want it realistic, there are huge doors IRL too.

it's like blueberries all over again ! #ab{:D}

Either way, if Punk Sarcophagus says it works for him, I don't feel the need to make any further changes.

Is there any chance of seeing a texture on those doors? They look much too plain for my liking.

Aside from that, I like that idea of having chairs and tables visible in the big windows, but wouldn't it be a little better if we had a second palette dedicated to making it look like it's behind the glass? Or is that the plan?

And what are the plans regarding a BG for this area?

Mommy, I saw an old thread! Can I bump it to see if it's still alive?

We should seriously get... erm, serious about this. This is going to be the most visited area in the hack, we want to make this not get boring after players seeing it about forty times. Stalling for a month doesn't help.
Thank you for making Outrageous Mario World the 11th most downloaded hack on the site!

Ham Sandwich progress: v1378 (Now with more arbitrary version numbering than ZGC!) Waiting to get around to working on it again.

I occasionally stream ROM hacks on Yoshi Lighthouse's Twitch account. Be sure to check it out!

FINALLY STARTING ON THIS

I thought it would be easy to use this tileset for the interior, but it turns out I'm wrong. I'll probably make some extra tiles....
Those light brown door handles look odd. Could you make them look metallic?

Hard to judge without a background, but it looks OK for now.

I know people kinda complained about the size of the doors, but holy crap those windows are even larger than that o_O

Other than that, excellent job. ;)

They may take some getting used to, but I've been told to make them that way after all. They look like they've been put to good use too, considering you can actually walk on them.

So what's the status on this? I've heard Punk Sarcophagus dropped the hub, yet according to Lightvayne's latest status report all levels are supposed to be done?

--------------------

No one has taken it up yet, I wasn't exactly considering it one of those levels. I am still looking for someone to pick it up.
