Not just removing the text, but removing the ability to select them.
Not a bad idea! I have added that to the TO DO list.
QuoteIt would also be nice to be able to edit the text for sprites/koopa kids in the credits section of the game.
Seeing as this is only a tile editor and not an image editor, it would be neat if another companion tool existed that could also modify the images as well.
Agreed. Added to the TO DO list as well.
Originally posted by Shiny NinetalesWtf, I didn't realize even this tool existed until now... nice, after testing it a bit I definitely find this much better than Smallhacker's.
More than a suggestion, a question: how does this exactly works in order to edit the text into the rom? I'm assuming it's either editing the tilemaps or doing something with ASM. In the case it's the latter, would be possible to export the changes as an .asm or something, so if you have to port your rom you only patch the asm?
Yeah... I never really put the tool anywhere other than here and it ended up a bit behind the scenes... I'm polishing it right now for hopefully putting on the tools section and on the SNES editing tools list.
Everything done so far is just editing stripe images. No freespace handling or anything. Hash's suggestions will require handling ASM, but that's not a problem for me.
The tool already allows for importing and exporting the file select at least using binary files, which makes everything portable to a new ROM if needed.
