This means that the tool is a installer - its a malicious program.

Nope, it's neither.

Care to post a screenshot of the message you're getting? There ought to be some button that says "run anyway".

If that would be the case then Vitor would be already brown banned (said thread is about two years old), this thread would be already closed or even trashed and none of the user would have used that tool - SMWC disallows to upload programms containing viruses and malware (and let's be honest: why would a moderator upload malware?) and it's a false positive from the OS/ anti virus. Believe me, I've used some tools which are marked by the OS/ anti virus and I got no virus at all.
(sorry for bumping the thread)

OH NOOOOO! WHO REMOVED MY USERBAR COLLECTION?!

I don't think, WHY WYE talked about the ingame screenshot but rather about the warning message about the tool.

I think it refers to the wall of text he called his signature.

Either way, none of the posts in here the last half year have made sense. I'll just close this, Vitor can reopen it if he wants to.

I have fixed download link and the screenshots on the first post. In addition the tool is now available on GitHub: https://github.com/VitorVilela7/SMW-TileEdit

Source code may not be the best (I have coded the tool in 2012 when I was 14 years old) but it might be useful for the future.

If is there something that would be nice to be updated, let me know. I have a little TO DO list for the tool.

I didn't realize this tool existed! Thanks Vitor, this will prove useful. As for additional ideas, it would be cool if this tool had the ability to remove the 2nd/3rd file as well as disable the 2 Player Game. Not just removing the text, but removing the ability to select them.

It would also be nice to be able to edit the text for sprites/koopa kids in the credits section of the game.

Seeing as this is only a tile editor and not an image editor, it would be neat if another companion tool existed that could also modify the images as well.
Wtf, I didn't realize even this tool existed until now... nice, after testing it a bit I definitely find this much better than Smallhacker's.

More than a suggestion, a question: how does this exactly works in order to edit the text into the rom? I'm assuming it's either editing the tilemaps or doing something with ASM. In the case it's the latter, would be possible to export the changes as an .asm or something, so if you have to port your rom you only patch the asm?

Not a bad idea! I have added that to the TO DO list.

Agreed. Added to the TO DO list as well.

Yeah... I never really put the tool anywhere other than here and it ended up a bit behind the scenes... I'm polishing it right now for hopefully putting on the tools section and on the SNES editing tools list.

Everything done so far is just editing stripe images. No freespace handling or anything. Hash's suggestions will require handling ASM, but that's not a problem for me.

The tool already allows for importing and exporting the file select at least using binary files, which makes everything portable to a new ROM if needed.

Looks great, what do you mean by should work with Linux as long
Over ride graphics?
Correct, so it won't try loading Lunar Compress.dll which is Windows-only.

Oh ok I see, is that .dll file of yours? I wonder if I place it in the right folder if wine will load it. I'll have to try that.
Edit: looking at file name of course it's your .dll #smw{-_-2}
Ok I see now, it's 50/50 if wine loads it.
More to the unfavorable 50 I'm sure. #smw{<_<}
Just for the heck of it I'll give it shot later though.
It's a no go with wine, maybe mono.
Ok, while I was actually doing something with the tool (rather than just testing it) I thought of several features that could improve the tool and its usability:

-Multiple tile selection
-Add a simple toolbar for some of the core functions (Open, Save, Undo/Redo, Flip X/Y, Palette)
-Open instantly the editor screen after loading the Rom
-Remember the color background you set
-Add Undo/Redo functions
-Add a Save option somewhere in the menus
-Add a Zoom option (I think the tool currently uses a 200% Zoom compared to in-game?)

There are some other minor weird things (like not having a Close option in the File menu), but the ones listed above are the ones I consider more important. I'd be glad if you consider at least one.

Another possible addition to this tool that would fit in quite well would be the ability to edit the level end score card. I saw Yoshi Master request it here, and immediately thought of this tool. This isn't something I realized I needed/wanted until now.
it doesnt loads anything when i select the rom nothing changes heeeelp
#tb{D'X}#tb{DX<}

Edit: just background and such stuff?? no Layer 3 Overworld map or Level Names??

And thats a Fact
