First and for most, I am happy to say this contest was successful in that We actually had a YI contest here on the central. Despite the low amount of entries, there were users who took the challenge up and stepped onto new lands. I'd like to congratulate all the users who entered for being awesome and sticking up to the challenge.

Now about the results, the results may seem a bit inconsistent with each other because the two judges had very different tastes. However, There is a solid first, second, and third place who I believe deserve it. Bonus points were given out by each judges judgement, so don't expect the same points from each judge on that part.

Here they are:
1st: "Climbing the Sky Summit" ~ Jimmy52905: 81.5/100
2nd: "Rube Goldberg's Castle" ~ Someguy712x: 77.5/100
3rd: "To the Moon?" ~ Kipernal: 72/100

4th: "Shark Tale" ~ Sokobansolver: 71.5/100
5th: "Snow Ski Fuzzy Things" ~ yogui: 70/100
6th: "Ladida's entry" ~ Ladida: 61.5/100
7th: "Confusing Junction" ~ Ripperon-X: 59.5
8th: "Big Puschel's Scary Fort" ~ Lespna: 54/100
9th: "Cheeto Mountains" ~ nick 139: 49.5/100
10th: "WELCOME TO DIE, ESCAPE THIS HELL" ~ PatPatPat: 32/100
11th: "Woo" ~ wiiqwertyuiop: (DQ + DQ)/100

And that's it for the results, here are our detailed judging for you to look at and recount in case I did some horrible math at 4 AM last night.

You scored over me LAdida? I guess a certain jugde just "hates" my entry.
I hope next YI entry isn't hosted by the same person. Other than that, I'm proud I didn't get last place.

And I hope next contest you learn how to design a real level. I spent 6 hours trying to beat your buggy level. You should be glad I didn't disqualify you for the requirement of savestates and slowing the emulation speed just to avoid frustration.

I took my time and effort getting that 100%, show some respect and evaluate yourself. Heck, if it weren't for me being so pushy about a YI level design contest, there would never be one in the first place. I'm not the greatest YI player in the world but that's what helped me judge this. If I were able to breeze through things easily, I would've never found all those glitches and issues for all entries.

Anyway, despite your OWN disliking of your car section, I found it to be the best part of the level, since it was short and to the point with a clever gimmick for the flower.
I wonder what a HFD opcode would do in ASM...

hey my entry was pretty n0ice >:(

but I can't disagree with the top 3. those were great

jimmy still sux though

edit: also TLMB get my level name right, it's "Make Omelettes, Throw Omelettes"
Psh, I was clearly the best designer in the contest.
..Holy shit. I won again? ._.
I'm actually legitimately surprised by this. I thought that my level could've used some more polish; it's definitely a bit too difficult imo. But hey, I'm satisfied with this. :D

ladida sux
I liked the more challenging levels, so I don't quite get why Ripperon-X gets a bad score.
However, some people may also not understand my judging, but yeah, nobody can say they're objective, so it's always a matter of taste as well.
As for both of our judgings, I guess you people have to live with it, but it's a huge mystery to me, how TLMB can take more than 1/2 hour to beat respectively 100% one of those levels (he still could have used savestates, I guess messing around is legit when it comes to judging levels).
I may have taken more time for Ripperon-X's entry, since it must be played twice, but beating any of these levels once has never taken me more than 1/2 hour...

*Edit*
@Ripperon-X:
Calm down, please, the contest is over and everybody has to accept the judging. It's 10$ to 15$ and a virtual badge; everyone with Internet connection should be able to get over these.
NEW! SMW2 Yoshi's Island is done!

That car section was designed like that, because there aren't really great ideas to implement there. I guess next contest won't have my entry in it, if the same judge is going to be there.

I should have something witty to put here (even if it's just to update dated info), shouldn't I?

If you are unwilling to submit an entry to a level contest because you're afraid of what some particular person may have to say about your work, quit entering level design contests and do something you have more confidence in yourself in. While I haven't played your entry myself (nor any of them for that matter), from what I've seen of your level looked like a convoluted mess and an absolute pain to 100%. It looked like things were there just for the sake of it and lacked a clear identity. This is the third level design contest I've seen you underperform in (though I could make an argument for Choco '10 having more lenient judges than I would be) and you cannot fault the judges (Yes, judges. If you "insult" one, you're basically insulting them all.) for calling you out on your own shortcomings.

6 hours with savestates to 100% Ripperon entry? I don't want to sound rude, but man, you suck at video games. #ab{:P}
And I don't really understand why you give patpat's entry 28/50 but ripperon's entry 18.5/50.

And congrat to the winnerz (damn Jimmy stop winning).

The first four hours were attempts where I didn't use savestates and I kept hitting game overs. I didn't do it all in one sitting. Plus, I'm balancing playing these to completion with my busy life. Did you play Ripperon-X's entry? If you haven't, then do so and maybe you'll understand how I felt.

I also gave Pat that score because of the points I put down that were slightly sarcastic and I knew he'd fall into last place. Consider his joke entry to be met with a joke judging, I probably should've used hexadecimal values to strengthen my point.

@ Ripperon-X: Basically what MrDeePay said.
I wonder what a HFD opcode would do in ASM...
@Yoshis Fan: I know the rewards, but where I live, they're quite pointless to me. So you're right. I shouldn't make a fuss over this anymore.

There's a difference between bad at playing, and bad unforgiving level design.
I would have gave 4th place my winnings honestly if I made it to the top three, or let the other two top 3 peeps split it. I just wanted to see raocow play a level of mine finally, and show others I can still make great levels without it being impossible for others. Hopefully there is another contest sometime, I'd love to enter!

Of course I would make the difficulty playable for all.
I know. I agree, but I thought there would be more judges for this contest, but I guess I am glad I did not get last place again. Sometimes, it seems like they are just overctrical over little things like Yoshi's Fan wasn't really specific. He just said my level had a lot of glitches and things and for example:

Comments: Things worked so far, but stepping into the topmost tile of lava to get a coin?

Was that a really bad idea? I put an arrow over the first one so I thought it was obvious there was something there, and if he means, there was only one tile, I couldn't really help it. You were supposed to go on the log and then make it float, and the red coin was in the lava under the coin arrow.

Also, Yoshi's Fan said:
Comments: Suddenly shifts from too easy to sudden-death lava sections.

It seems like he's implying it was too easy for the player to die, and when I played the level, I know the logs move slow, but that isn't something I can help, if you know what I mean. You just have to stand on the edge to make them move faster or push fast-forward, I guess. It wasn't that long of a section, and I thought that it was self-explanatory that the logs moved slow unless you've never played the game before.

Also, I know it was not really professional, and I realized the level scroll in the last room was really slow, but it was supposed to be a level for 1-4. I was trying to make it more interesting w/the chomp rocks breaking the sand since that was never used in the original game. Also, throwing the eggs through the lava, I thought that would be good, but they never mentioned that. Also, maybe, it seems like maybe they didn't know I used the Giant Mildes b/c that was what the name was after, and the one in the second room was supposed to be used to jump onto the higher platform. I didn't know people would stomp them or the sand to see if there was something below, and I guess I should have tested the stomping b/c I never realized that stomping on the Giant Milde's would make the pallete look strange.

However, I guess I'm glad that I got to see Raocow play my level, and he said he had a lot of fun playing it.
This is bullshit, how did I not win?
So I'm new to this and I don't really understand what's going on.

Where is the page that shows everyone's entry so we can download them and play them.

And I don't know if this would work or not, but I think it would be really cool if ordinary smw members could vote too.

Like for example. There are two judges already, but what if the whole smw community could act as if it were a third judge as in everyone who is wanting to cast their votes on the hacks do a similar write up just as the two judges did and then all of the votes/scores from the smw central community are averaged and it acts like a third judge.

I say this because I could get more people involved in contests like this and so that everyone had a say regarding who the winner should be.

I would like to play these levels and cast my vote and I'm sure other people would too.

Also doing it this way by having the smw community act as if it were a 3rd judge wouldn't monopolize the contest either, since it would only count for 1/3 of the total percentage of the votes so that the two judges together would still have the majority.
