2 Player Co-op Quest!

Standard

This has been an idea floating around my head for a while now. I could make a mini hack, but I would have to make it different in a sense... Having the regular platformer wouldn't cut it for me this time. It was time to try something different, something unique. Then it hit me: 2 players playing at the same time! Not Mario and Luigi together like in NSMB, one player is Mario, the other; everything else!

Here's the thing:
- Player 1 is Mario and does what Mario does best.
- Player 2 is the majority of sprites. Their job is to kill Mario. Simple as that. However there are some bonus levels at the end of the game where the two players must work together to beat a puzzle and boss. Can player 2 be trusted?

So yeah, both people play the game at the same time. You can also play the game in single player, but you can't do the co-op levels!

This is my version of project bottles.

Looks really cool man! I remember hearing about this patch
Could you link me it if you have the time? :)

Alas I think I'll play this with my GF, she likes killing me in games....

I've beaten the last two levels without a second player.#w{xD}

Me and my brother played this game recently, probably the funnest time I had with him. I think the toughest level for me so far was the forest level, since he kept owning me with the Wiggler. I demand more of a quest, eight levels is not enough!

I think someone really should make a full length chocolate hack with the works and this gimmick. It would be really interesting to say the least.

Looks great! Shame I don't have anyone to play with on netplay, nor do I know how to use netplay in SNES9X... :P

This is one of the most unique ideas for a hack I've ever seen. I'm really impressed with the creativity on display here. I need to get in touch with my brother in Indiana to play this thing; I think he'd really enjoy it as well.

What was your inspiration for this?

If I moderated your hack, there was apparently a 90 percent chance it was rejected.

Basically I was playing project bottle with a friend again, and wondered to myself if this patch was capable of being applied and editing the game so it still worked. I checked and it did. When I knew of this I wanted to make a small basic hack for my friends to play each other in. Then I decided to release it on SMWC.

If anyone wants to make their own hack like this, they just have to download and apply this patch first.

However it won't work patching this to already edited roms.

Is it okay if I use this as base for hilarity? I mean, I may or may not make a full on thing, but just for my friends. :L
