Before I go onto commenting the screens, welcome to the forums. (Even though I'm merely a shadow around here often)

Anyway, what you have shown here isn't exactly anything special, although I see no major clashes with the graphics, however, the mushroom in the first screen seems a little bright compared to the rest of the level.

The overworld screenshot looks alright as it is although it is a little flat looking. Maybe you could add a few more elevated areas here and there to give it more variation. The square hole looks odd, I'm not sure if it's deliberate but it definitely looks out of place.

The gradient in the BG of the 3rd screen is nice, gives off a nice sunset vibe, everything else looks fine too.

Maybe a description would be nice to tell us what you plan on doing and give us an insight of how the game will play/differ from other hacks.

Hey, welcome to the forums!

Anyway, the OW there has a few errors. Take a look:

The bottom corner should match the top corner of the hills here (red circles), as in the bottom tile corresponding to the top, should be diagonal as well (matching).

The bottom right corner (also red circle), should also match the cliff at the top.

The yellow areas on the image are just suggestions for adding more decorations in these spots.

Not much to say on the levels, I do not see any errors. Except maybe that the Gradient in the second level pic looks like it should be smoother, making the color of the bars closer together. Palettes and design are decent, keep it up =D

Thanks. How about this?

The new map is better, though there's still a few errors:

1) Discolored cliff side
2) The line should extend to the top. Also in this area, it's noticable where the land corner tiles are missing. There's a missing land corner tile near the bottom left corner and a green rock where the land tile should be a little left from the bottom circled area that I forgot to mark. :S
3) (Bottom, forgot to number it) The water could use a corner tile here.

Are you going to have overworld paths? I always thought it was a better idea to do the paths first then decorate it so you can plan your use of space accordingly. Right now, the decoration's kind of random, nothing really overlaps in clusters, those hills around Green Plains are based in a perfect right triangle (this is a kind of unappealing thing) and there's a lot of empty space, so yeah, I think laying out the visible path tiles before going any further would help.

Back to the original post..
Screen 1: I like this style and don't think the mushroom is too bright, but I do think instead of having a yellow outline, it should have a black outline. I'd also suggest extending the gradient further, but other than that, it looks okay.

Screen 3: This foreground is a very different style from the last one.. it's grainy and dull, whereas the other one is clean and vibrant. They don't seem like they should coexist in the same game IMO. The level should also have a proper background (unless you're doing level data on layer 2?) but the gradient colors are very nice. Much like the last one, I think the gradient here should also be longer.

That's, um, also a lot of green Koopas, and being on a hill makes them pretty easy to dispose of if you slide at the right moments. I'm pretty sure you could use less of them without changing the challenge aspect much.

Keep up the good spirit, man.

Just look above you...
If it's something that can be stopped, then just try to stop it!
Thanks for the suggestions. :)
