Well I've looked through all your screenshots and really there's nothing wrong with this that i can see. Just one thing I need to ask: What's the storyline? We know who mario's friend is but how does she (he? with anime characters it can be hard to tell sometimes) tie in with the story? How does she help Mario? Or is she a bad guy? well you get the point. Whats the story of this hack? Just wondering.
I like this hack, especially your take on the vanilla levels. The custom GFX looks good, too. The only problem with the OW I have is the lava palette in the Bowser submap. A bit too bright in my opinion. Great job, though!
