It's not too major, but Mario looks a little bit wonky in the cutscenes. I would personally have him look more like he does in gameplay, but that's up to you.
Excellent work on Mario's gameplay design btw. While it's incredibly similar to the original, it manages to fit in with the surroundings.
I could only imagine you using the song, Abyss Gate, from Romancing Saga 3...

Drawing Mario is definitely one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.
Either way, I'll be sure to go back and see if I could get him looking more like himself, but do note I have an anime esque drawing style; so he will end up looking different either way. The player sprite graphics for Mario are sprites I personally redefined and reshaded so that they look more D4 Style.

I personally like how Mario looks with your drawing style. He doesn't look that fat, he looks more fit by this time anyway.

The tombs of the temple, a very precarious and dangerous... dank place to be in. I was going for a depressing look at you are getting closer to one of the many sources of evil in the Mario universe... one of the four original evils in the Devious Four Universe.
It's a dark, dank cave. It's supposed to be depressing, it's supposed to a place you would feel unsettled at. I tried going for the look of poison and corruption with the graphics here. Giving the plants red bulbs, overgrown flora, stuff like that. As a plus, it just looks really nice.
Tia's hair pallete is marked on the first three colours of the pallete, and are therefore unchangable by Flower Pallete and stuff. I actually really wish I thought of that when I was drawing up her graphics. Doh. Maybe I can fix that in the next couple of days. Thanks for that input.
Just showing off some work I did yesterday on the "castle level" of World 3 of Black Hole. It's an airfield like stage, sorta based off Storm Eagle's stage from MegaMan X. The background is ripped, but the foreground is made by me.
Just posting a little something-something from a couple of weeks ago. Progress on the Black Hole has slowed to a crawl for personal reasons. Do note that I don't plan on giving up the hack just yet. There are things going on, and I really need to get a job and get into Tech School ASAP.
The inside of the airfield center isn't exactly what one would expect, but it is really just a conveyor floor room that loves to be mean to you.
Since people have been PMing me about the Fourth Sector and how long it'll be until it's released. I figure that there are other people who want to know, but don't question it. So, I'll go ahead and address the issue publically.
My hack known as "The Devious Four Chronicles #7: The Fourth Sector" is ready to be released, yes. Level wise and what not, there are no game breaking bugs or bad glitches... yet. Unfortunately, the only thing that is keeping me from releasing this title is a very nasty VRAM bug. If you don't know what I'm talking about, here is a camparison screenshot.
VRAM Error ----------> Regular
Now, it's nothing game breaking, but it is pretty annoying. Anybody that has recieved the IPS patch can vouch for that fact. And until I can find a way to fix this nasty bug, which pops up EVERYWHERE; I can only say that Fourth Sector will, unfortunately, not see a hack release anytime soon.
Have you thought about an unofficial release, like you've done with the earlier entries in the series? I personally think there's a worse bug in HRR than the VRam error in The Fourth Sector.
As much I would love to do so, I would actually like the rest of our releases to be in the "Hacks" section of the site. As a plus, I would really hate to release Fourth Sector with such a bug in it, even though it is miniscule; it is still quite a bother and hinders enjoyment of the game.
Not sure if this will help, but I found this thread. Someone had some VRAM errors a few years ago, and other users of the website left suggestions. Try seeing if some of them will work for you.
Those screens look pretty cute, I love your graphic style, as always giving a good atmosphere. The Frog powerup is awesome, probably it's the first hack where I see it. Nice work both for the powerup addition and its GFX which looks very cute~
