Pokemon X & Y: Generation 6 [SPOILERS] - Gaming

I think the starters look pretty cool. Lookin' good overall. I could complain about some lackluster 3d models on the field but the pokemon and battles look really good in comparison, and that's all that matters right? Really really pumped for a simultaneous worldwide release.

Well, when I speak about "have tiles" the movement is what I usually refer to, not the graphics. In this sense SMW doesn't have tiles, it has pixel perfect movement. And judging by the trailer, where the trainer's motion seemed kinda stiff, I'd guess that X and Y still have tile-based movement.

A new Pokemon generation is coming out and literally all I have to say is "Why is Quote from Cave Story the protagonist? The fire starter looks so cute, I might get it." And I just thought of a third thing: It's a fire type, and it looks like a fox, so that makes it a Firefox, right?

The overworld looks awful, but the battles are pretty much perfect.

I'm going to be honest, I didn't really expect there to be a 6th gen.

But holy shit, I am amazed. This is really looking impressive, and the starters look pretty nice.

Still, I'm left wondering how/if it'll be possible to transfer Pokemon over from B/W/B2/W2...

Well here are two possible solutions:
1. By connecting two 3DS (or a 3DS and a DS) and having some kind of restricted trade (as seen in trades between Blue/Red and Gold/Silver), or
2. by using some kind of 3DS software. First you insert the DS game, then you start the app. The app then stores the Pokemon from the DS game somewhere on the system. Next you insert the 3DS game and transfer over your Pokemon.
Maybe they'll also just disable trades from previous generations alltogether.

I'm going to hold off before I get excited, I'd rather know a little more first. One of my main concerns is how flashy the battles may end up looking. Some of the battles you want to go through quickly (wild pokemon encounters, short trainer battles) can end up dragging on long enough without each move having a long flashy animation, so I hope they keep the timings fairly brief. I'd also like some more additions to the core game mechanics just to change things up a bit as I'm getting a little tired of the same mechanics. A new type or two would be enough I think. (Although I'd be happier if they gave moves two types, but I imagine the complexity of that would stop it from ever happening. Oh well.)

Let's just see what things they tell us. My concern is that since the trailer was all "Ooh, 3D models, yippee!" that the main game will be practically the same thing. Maybe I'm being too pessimistic, again, we'll see.

Well, they'll probably include the option to turn off animations again.

I highly doubt transitions in battles will be slow at all. They look to be of a decent speed to me. Anyway these days you get so much money, you may as well mass stock repels if it's really an issue.

Ever since platinum they've made sure that battles could go pretty fast. Personally I'd prefer how you can go through the battle much faster in black and white over just turning animations off.

Wow! I'm so excited! I love Pokémon and I've been waiting for a time in the main series handheld Pokémon games where 2D sprites don't exist! This entire game has only 3D models! And I don't even have to wait a year until these games release!

Literaly right when I saw that Generation 6 is coming out I flipped out at how quickly a new generation comes. Generation 5 only has Black, White, Black 2, and White 2, no Ruby and Sapphire remake, and they just go straight into Generation 6! This is exciting!

And I also want to make a Pokémon-themed Super Mario World hack and the thought of Generation 6 is giving me a lot of inspiration!

Of course we see Derpy ranting about gen 3 again. Oh well, different strokes for different people I guess. But gen 3 was good, and I am disappointed that it hasn't been remade yet as well as Ladida is.

i'm just glad there is a pokemon game that i cant easily get a rom and play it,because there are no 3ds emulators! thank goodness i have my 3ds,and it would be awsome if i could get it from eshop the day it comes out,and have like B2W2 have a 3ds app for the game,since by the video there is pokemon like pikachu and kirlia i guess it's like BW2,so i will make a team of my fav pokemon!because they scatter through gen 1 and 5
so they cannot be in BW...
