That is easily fixable, I'll make some spare GFX for that too. I was thinking it looked weird too when I played the demo myself.

Your layout has been removed.
Played the demo, and I have small suggestion for the second phase. Mario should be able to jump on Norveg to push him down even when the shield is up. This makes it so that instead of waiting for him to get low enough for one jump to push him into the lava, if I'm cool enough I can chain two or three-ish jumps to push him into damage. Seriously look into this, I have a feeling it will really help the fight.

Otherwise, solid ass job. I know this kind of crap is time consuming and you're doing it for nothing.

EDIT: Just played it again and the interaction for jumping on norveg seems a little wonky too. Can you make it so landing a hit is a little more lenient?

You know, I was looking at this the other day and thinking the exact same thing. At first I didn't want it because I thought it would make the boss too easy, but then I actually tried to do it and it is not that easy to do. I also think it would make more sense, it's a little weird that you phase through him when he has his shield up...

I don't know when you downloaded it, but at first it was not accounting for his bobbing up and down in the interaction code, which made it weird. I fixed that a couple days ago, but I don't actually know when you got it.
I don't think it's actually the interaction now that I look into it, but instead simply a design flaw. You see, a lot of sprite in Mario would don't require you to be directly on top of the sprite in order to register damage, but instead gives a few pixels of vertical leeway. Now, this lacking wouldn't be that much of a problem, but it's just because Norveg floats at nearly the apex of Mario's jump -- and this makes it wildly difficult to land a hit (one that usually doesn't even do anything). Or it could be I'm just bad at SMW. Always a possibility.

If you get what I'm sayin', then I recommend either you give that vertical leeway, or make it so that Norveg floats just a tad lower. Thanks for the the response though, I appreciate it :)
How's this?

SMW's interaction checking doesn't fit with my brain, so I switched to my own. It should be more forgiving, basically if your feet are above his neck you'll hit him. In addition, you can hit him multiple times without waiting for the shield to go down. I did it once then promptly fell in the lava.
Feels much better to me. Only complaint I have would be to rise the area that hurts him in the lava a touch, but that may make it a bit too easy. Other than that however, I think it'll work really well once we get appropriate graphics for it all.
