Tip: Layer 3 backgrounds and tides disappear when you hit a message box, so plan your level around that. For example, you can add a sublevel without layer 3 at the start/midpoint, and include your message there. Not logged in.

Stacked munchers are a problem, too...

But jumping between muncher after muncher is okay.

It can serve as quite a relief.

You know what bothers me more?

When the hack kills you on the first screen.

Living On The Edge starts by shooting me out of a cannon, and I have no idea how to avoid dying.

When I play a hack, I expect Mario to be standing and for the text box to come up.

NOT TO BE SHOT OUT OF A CANNON.

Except people find it very annoying and tiresome. The hack is supposed to have a bit of quality, not repetitive segments.

That doesn't make a kaizo hack bad, though. Some kaizo hacks have some pretty good prologues and they rarely are transformed into a full level. Like E=MC Hammer. It does have a nice touch in the beginning by including a 1-UP at the entrance.

If you're not a skilled TASer, don't expect to get any farther than that in LoTE. It's one of those kind of hacks. If you don't know what kind of TAS tricks get you past the intro, I don't see you being able to, later on, ride a key bicycle or cape flying in one tile wide spaces.
Except for the original Kaizo series and hacks that turn the prologue int a level, I personally am not a huge fan of prologues that try to kill the player (unless it's turned into an actual level), tho I don't think that should be a Kaizo hack removal reason. More of a preference than a criticism. That is why Hertz Donut, MMD, and MMD2 do not kill you in the prologue. Combo Breaker and Eggplant (unreleased) are the only non-Kaizo hacks I know of that can kill the player in the prologue.

Many people don't like it because it's often uncreative, repetitive, and overused.

How am I so creative? I think taking walks might have something to do with it.
Every single level I will ever make in SMM2 will be easier than Ultra Necrozma.
Wow this thread is still alive.

I've added a Q&A section to the information in the body post. This answers some questions that you may have and that a lot of new hackers have already had.
