Not too long ago, I started a new hack based on an idea for a side project that ended up being canceled. The original Kamek's Island was to be a mini-hack that used nothing but vanilla graphics, along with a little ASM and custom music. This Kamek's Island, however, will contain some custom graphics mixed in with the vanilla ones, along with custom sprites, custom blocks, some ASM, and custom music. It will also be a full-length hack with 7 Worlds and plenty of levels to explore.
Here is the Intro Screen, which explains the plot. It may be simple, but it gives us an excuse to run around jumping on people's heads.

Overall looking very nice so far. I can see a few places of very minor cutoff (the logs and pipes on some edges), but it's not a big deal.
There's one little nitpick I have about the background palette in On The Line, though: the clouds don't seem...white enough. It's like they're just slightly darker than part of the shading of the clouds, and it just sticks out to me. Make sure the white color's RGB values there are set to (248,248,248), as I believe the default white color in palettes 0-7 is always slightly darker than pure white (like, 232,240,248 or something).
E: I think that problem is in the background of Springtime Scamper as well, but to a lesser extent. Just make sure that white in the background has an RGB value of (248,248,248) and not (232,240,248) or whatever. (I do realize that I'm likely splitting hairs by talking about RGB values in palettes, but hey, this stuff sticks out to me.)
That's all, though, the style looks very nice otherwise. I especially like what you did with the Yellow Switch Palace's background. Good work. :)
I'm not really a fan of this background. This is just my opinion, but it looks too 2D, like it's just one layer behind the player instead of seeing a full landscape with foreground and background, it's just some mushrooms with nothing behind it (does that make sense?).
Other than that, this looks really good. I'm excited!
Everything here looks really nice, I just love the style used, and the level design looks interesting too. Nice job here :3

Yeah, it looks a bit weird. Maybe adding some clouds behind the BG mushrooms would make it look better?
It's looking so far! I've seen your style in another hacks and I appreciate it so much, not to mention your level design and some custom graphics for the choconilla style for this hack, everythings is looking good here, also, the map is good designed too, just a thing.

I know isn't a major issue, but you can avoid cutoffs (even having inspiration from other Mario games who have these commons cutoffs). I know your level design is based in this too, just suggesting to avoid this.
Anyway, great work Gamma V! I'll wait for updates and stuff.
Another hack you're working on well, when there are updates for this forum i'll be happy to take a look at the improvements as for now the designs for the levels seems to be average at best and the palettes for the background of one of the athletic levels seems to be a bit eye seering
I have now finished the first level of World 2, Forest Frolic.
I see you, Lakitu.
There used to be a couple Spinies there, but I killed them. Now only coins remain.
There must be something in that pipe, but I need a P-Switch to get it.
That Spiny only THINKS he can stop me from getting that Yoshi Coin.

The levels have a unique concept, but for future reference when you make custom palettes for the these levels, make sure you didn't give the backgrounds such a bright color otherwise it would look a bit too much.
I actually like the palette. While the dirt spots are a little too bright, it reminds me a lot of the forest levels from DKC. Other than a little more cutoff, keep up the good work!
In between recording my numerous LPs, I've been working on the next 2 levels of World 2. The hardest thing was probably finding a suitable song for 2-3 since there is no swamp tag in the music section. I ended up porting and using the jungle theme from New Super Mario Bros. Wii for that level.
WORLD 2-2 - NINJIS' NIGHT
As the name implies, this level takes place at night and features lots of Ninjis. Some just hop in place since they're the original SMW sprite while others run while jumping and are custom.
There are also Classic Hammer Bros. to watch out for.
Here's a running Ninji. His cosmetic differences are very subtle due to him using SMW's default Ninji graphics.
WORLD 2-3 - SPIDER SWAMP
This level was originally going to be called Swamp Romp, but I changed the name due to its similarity with the name of a level in SMWCP2 and the fact that it uses the spider sprites from Super Mario Land.
The level uses the Swamp GFX set I made back in 2011. That mud is actually the ground from the castle destruction cutscenes. It acts like quicksand.
If you're quick enough with the jump button, you may be able to go under this Suu. If not, you can just jump on him or kill him with fire.

The castle theme for this game will just be the original SMW theme. Since I'm using AddMusicK, I can mix original and custom music without things breaking in accurate emulators.

After taking a bit of a break from this to do several Let's Plays, I finally got back to work to finish a couple levels.
2-G Creepy Cabin
This will be the first Ghost House of the game.
Basically, this Message Block is giving a clue as to how to find the exit.
Fake Boo Doors abound in this level.
There must be something below me. Maybe I need a P-Switch to get it.
2-4 Serene Stream
After finding your way through the Creepy Cabin, you make your way to the game's first water level.
Don't wake the sleeping fish!
Jumpin' Piranha Plants underwater? Why not?
Later on, Rip Van Fishes become a little tougher not to wake up.
