Make sure your level:

-Uses the star exits for your level. The SMB3 Star Exit ends the level, the SMW one does not. As such, the Super Mario World star exit is useful if you want a bonus star to not force the restart of the level.

-Is not extremely tedious or dreadingly long. What we'd like to avoid are 10 minute levels abusing all 21 possible sections you can have, or a 4 minute level that would take you three hours to beat because of the incredible difficulty. Make it fun. Remember, no one wants to play a flat land level with repeated segments.

If you want your level to be challenging, just make sure the difficulty isn't borderlining insanity. Keep it fair, and try to avoid artificial difficulty.

Also make sure your level does everything for a reason. For example, don't just have a random "muncher run" in a level for no other reason than to just to pad it out.

-Avoids using badly-sounding music or unpleasing graphics. I know this might have been obvious, but you'd be surprised what can happen when clashing becomes extreme. I know tastes are subjective, but you should be able to distinguish what will be pleasing to other people.

To submit your level, create a thread fr it and provide a playable. The Quality Control members will test it and accept or reject it.

Thread Guidelines:

-Show screenshots. This will let a viewer get a visual feel.

-Provide a playable. This will let a viewer get a hands-on experience, and let them have more to say. Not necessary, but it helps giving more complete feedback.

-Be humble, ask for opinions and thank each person who offers them up. Show your viewers the utmost kindness and respect, they are taking their time to help your level.

-Be sure to tag your thread when creating it based at which stage of creation it is. The tags are as follows:

(Incomplete): Level is still a work in progress.
(Complete): The level is finished, but requires testing before it can be submitted. Testers should focus on levels with this tag.
(Accepted): The level has passed Quality Control and is now a part of the collab.
(Canceled): This level is not ready for submission, however, the creator no longer is able to finish it.
The deadline's May 15th, then?

If we live in a different location where the date is different
(i.e. September 11), do we get until May 15th in our location to make it?

If not, how can we be sure when to turn in our assignments?

What are you talking about? The day is the same all over the world, give or take a day for Time Zones.

What?
May 15th, is it?
Phew, looks like I've got some more time than I thought to finish off my level. (read: start it)
