1. If you make a thread for your hack, give screenshots!
This is important. It's not enough to just talk about your hack, you've got to show what it looks like, too! This is what truly captivates people- even if they say they like how it "sounds", you're going to get them with your screenshots above all. How you take a screenshot, though, depends both on your emulator of choice and your key configuration in it, if it allows remapping of things like "Take Screenshot", but once you have it, upload it somewhere like your files, or some image-hosting website.

2. Don't create threads solely to ask for people to join your team!
If you're interested in starting a team hack, make some progress on your own first and show off some progress as per the previous rule. If people are interested in what they have to see, they may be more inclined to join your team.

3. Don't announce or link to someone else's hack without permission, or pass it off as your own, ESPECIALLY Japanese hacks!
This should be common sense, but it still needs to be stressed, especially for the Japanese hacks. Easiest way to not break this rule is to just let the creator show his/her hack here themselves. If they don't do it themselves, they either don't want it here, or don't even know about this place. Also, most Japanese websites have big, red text saying, in plain English, not to redistribute them. For those who don't know what that means, that means "don't link to or submit them elsewhere". Period. They are kind enough to put that in English for the rest of us, and you are expected to listen.

4. If you see someone using an idea you or someone else had, leave them alone.
Don't stop someone from using an idea in their hack just because you (or someone else) had the same idea. It's rude and inconsiderate, and it's not worth it just to have "uniqueness". Remember, what makes a hack is its design, not its uniqueness, so just leave them alone about similarities.

5. Don't steal graphics/music/etc!
This is self-explanatory, but don't take things from someone else and use them without their permission. For that matter, don't blackmail them, either, by ripping the thing in question and then threatening to just use it in your hack anyways unless they give you permission to use it.

6. Give constructive criticism when posting!
If you are going to give feedback about someone's hack, please provide constructive criticism and comments! If you are going to say a hack is good or bad, then state why - something like 'very bad hack do better' or 'This hack sucks. You really need to improve' is frowned upon, because you're telling the author nothing. Saying a hack is good is okay but if you're going to be negative, tell the author how he/she could improve and suggest how the hack could be made better. If you have nothing constructive to say, it's best to not type it.

7. Please respect hack authors working on their hacks at their own pace.
Hacking isn't a full-time job, it's a hobby. People can work on their hacks whenever and however they want. Harassing them about their hack's progress is not only rude and inconsiderate; it won't make them work faster, and will get you warned and/or banned.

These rules will be enforced.
I'd like to announce that Rule 7 was added as of today, considering the recent incidents involving harassing hack authors about progress on their hacks. It will be enforced, so please read and take note of it or there will be consequences.
