Are those turn blocks death blocks? If so, then make it seem a little more obvious. Also, you don't need to spam them everywhere; a muncher floor and ceiling, and the excess blocks replaced with something else maybe?

Also, I know how to finish the section.

MarioFanGamer659, This is a bad trap, Be more creative! I know designing traps isn't easy, But his just looks ugly, Nuff' said.

Also, to scale an image you'd wanna go to www.picresize.com/

Using a website to resize images is completely impractical. I recommend taking the time to learn how to use the resize/scale function in any image editor, as it is almost always very simple to do.

Host the screenshot somewhere else other than Dropbox because I get a 403 if I try to access it. Not everybody is a Dropbox user.
Rather, there is a way to publicly embed Dropbox images, but it needs to be in your Public folder.

Is that the kaizo trap where screen scrolling to the left won't let you die if you arrive near the edge? If so, it has been used several times already, but I don't see a problem on using it again.

Right after the goal, after the bonus 1-up for matching last digit of time and both digits of coins, place a custom block that sets Mario's lives to one. There should be a key early on in the level, and Mario has to take it to the end to go in a pipe leading to the goal tape. Mario has to carry the key Through the goal tapt to get the 1-up that results, as there will be a midpoint above a pit of lava before he can complete the goal march. If Mario didn't carry the key before the goal march, he'd get a Game Over. To make sure the Player can't stop the walk by placing the key down, have the goal march be on top pf a train of Eating Blocks. After the forced death, have the midway entrance be in another area, where there's a goal that DOESN'T kill the player.

I don't remember whose idea this was but I remember someone suggested a custom block that would kill Mario if the goal music was playing during the goal walk, and you would have to pause the game at just the right time before the goal so that the level music would keep playing during the goal walk.

they do. in ZGC, the key had yet to be spawned when the goalpost was hit.

I just meant the keys just despawn without giving squat. It would be interesting to see this trap in a hack.

Here are some goal traps. They were probably used before in some hacks, but as I've never seen any of them myself I post this traps anyway. :P

This is almost like the goal trap natnew posted, but here you need to scroll the screen to get the mushroom.


This trap could be used in a rope level where you have Yoshi. You have to go through the goal point without Yoshi or otherwise you'll trigger the blue P-Switch.



If you swallow a key with Yoshi, the keyhole will trigger even if you die. This could be used to trigger secret exits that you normally can't reach.

If you do that, you might wanna put a pit just on the other side of the P-Switch so you can't just walk through the goal normally without screen scrolling. But I don't think I've seen that before. Unless it's far enough away anyway.

Oh lol yep, by scrolling the screen to the right you can get rid of the P-Switch and therefore finish the level with Yoshi. But something like this should work: :)
