I like the idea of this contest, but I think you shouldn't focuse that much on the boss. Lose 15 points for using an original boss makes it feel like a boss contest, not a level contest. Just my two cents.
I might be getting in if I have time (it also depends on the deadline
).

I also like the Idea, and i'm also wondering about the deadline. But I actually think the rules for the Boss should be rewritten. Just because you use the koopalings you can't get any points? I mean if you're using them in a very creative way then you can do things that are as great as custom bosses.
Just another thing, the link in the main thread that should link to this one actually leads to the same thread.

No requiring savestates or rewinds. Dang, that's hard for me. I will get right to work on this project. It will be a castle or a cave, because I think I do those best.

So, I've added a deadline and lowered the points for the boss from 15 to 10. Check out the rules page for the date.
@LX5: Yeah, all custom stuff and asm is allowed.

I have finished two of the rooms in my level. One of them is actually outdoors. The only custom things I'm using is a custom boss, the multi-midway patch, and a few GFX edits here and there.

I'm still making some custom blocks... too many custom blocks... well, at least the custom blocks are something simple.

I'll be a judge, but I was also planning on entering a submission.
Either I can become a judge and the submission is checked by only the other judges (as to avoid bias), or I don't submit the level.
My submission is half-done, with no custom sprites or music.
(I do not know how to make it and the guides are way too confusing)
Still, I hope you can accept me as a judge. I'm pretty impartial.
