Should Kaizo Hacks Be Allowed With Regular Hacks?

Link Thread Closed
I think that Kaizo hacks are unfairly denied from SMWCentral.

They're hacks, too!

I think if Kaizo hack mods can be appointed and if they can agree on a set of Kaizo hack submission guidelines, then it can probably happen. I think Kieran has talked about allowing Kaizo hacks into the database eventually.

This has been something addressed several different times. I would like something greater than just a small forum base to post kaizo hacks as well, but maybe something separated from regular hacks, so that you know what you're looking at is either kaizo or regular. Too many people have based all kaizo hacks on one bad hack. I would like to have them one place as well so that I don't have to go on a scavenger hunt for one hack to TAS. Of course, there is the Kaizo Hack Submission Thread, but there's going to be the hacks after that be lost and maybe gone forever and forgotten about.

And, like Sokobansolver said in the post above, have guidelines so that not just any hack is accepted.

I feel like I'm restating what others have said before (which I am), but they are bolded points.

I am entirely for this. The Kaizo community is relatively small, and I think having a separate section for it would help. Then again, SM64 has its own section and hacking it is almost nonexistent nowadays.

Considering that most of the other sections on SMWCentral now have the new tag filtration system (including the SM64 and YI hack sections), it's pretty likely that the SMW hack section will be receiving it as well. At that point, all that would need to be done is add a "Kaizo" tag.

Considering I'd apply for a Kaizo Hack moderator if it was up, I'm for it. There was a considerable amount of Kaizo hackers back at when I first registered, but now there is only a few (mainly me, Sokobansolver, gibbi and HoorayForJay. Note that I said few).

Also, I agree with Sokobansolver about the addition of guidelines for kaizo hacks, so that super bad kaizo hacks won't get accepted.
I really agree there should be a Kaizo section (or at least a tag for it in the Hacks section), but i'm not sure if it should be for pit hacks as well. The thing is that they would even need more time to moderate.

I think pit hacks are a type of Kaizo hack, right?

Also, Mario's Deadly Adventure is a Kaizo hack.

I think they're Kaizo squared. Since they're pretty much TAS puzzles and the majority cannot do many of the required tricks with ease and would not consider these type of hacks fun, I'm not sure how a pit tag would be feasible.

There is no longer any need to discuss the hosting/moderating of Kaizo hacks on the site.
