GN edit: corrected title for you

Amazing layout by JackTheSpades
I think those are as following:
Combo Breaker- the concept of not being able to spinjump on certain enemies is pretty cool, and I don't think anyone has used it before. I liked the intro as well. The level that I liked the most was "Chopping Mall", because of the use of grinders and stuff.
The Second Reality Project Reloaded- besides having Chaos CompleXX and the original TSRP as one giant hack as the main intention, it actually looks pretty cool, its concept is well thought out. I like the gameplay and the graphics, and the way I travelled from the cave world to the pink one, reminiscent of Chaos CompleXX's levels. The only thing I didn't like was that icey ghost house that I've died on hundreds of times (ironically, I died in that exact same level in the original TSRP as well), but other than that, it looks awesome for a remake.

Oh. So its OK to have a "Best Hacks" thread that's useless, but its wrong to have "Worst Hacks" thread that's informs people to stay away from crap hacks?
The latter thread actually offended the users who made these hacks (hell, even I was stupid for not realizing that it was offending them) so I don't think this one will be closed as well, since it's actually the opposite of the worst hacks one, and it's not that bad AFAIK.

I'd say TSRPR, Brutal Mario, SMW 2+3, Demo World: TLC, and The Cookie Crisis (in no specific order).
My favorite hacks of the Acmlm's Board era (e.g. 2002-2006) would have to be Super Mario Odyssey and Super Demo World: TLC. SMO was the first hack I played with noticeable ASM and unique gimmicks, so that was a mindfuck. SDW:TLC was pretty memorable, being a full-length hack created by FuSoYa. It was professionally designed, particularly the levels and overworld. It wasn't perfect, there were some graphical clashes, odd spikes in difficulty, and poor design choices (e.g. those tedious pipe mazes) but overall it was pretty neat. I thought the whole process of unlocking the secret world was ridiculously complex but cool.

My favorite hack of the SMWCentral era (2007-present) would have to be Mario's Keytastrophe. Like SDW:TLC, it wasn't perfect. The graphical styles varied from level to level but for the most part I thought they clicked. The puzzles did get pretty devious at times, and the hack was plagued by slowdown, but I always found this hack had a particular charm to it that others lacked. Shame the final product never saw the light of day.
Any hack that has mostly vanilla sources with great custom palettes. A great example is (Vanila Failure)
Most hacks have their own charms, I can't really pick one. However, after playing very custom hacks, even making my own, it makes vanilla hacks seem like a nice break from all that. I especially like the vanilla hacks done in the style of the original SMW, that means they're well made. #w{=)}

I am gravely offended since no one chose my hacks. I think I'm going to hide in the corner and cry for a few hours.

Seriously though, my favorite hack has to be TSRPR (how shocking) more specifically, Bowser's Starship. Not only is that level fun, it's music is orgasmic. My friend and I would play that from time to time, trying to beat that level save stateless. I have succeeded! But only once. I can't seem to find a .srm of the game anymore though.

Yes, I know it's clear that we all love the Second Reality Project Series. But my favorite hack is not TSRPR. Yes, it was a great hack, but as of now, nothing, not even it, has been able to top TSRP2 as my favorite hack of all time. I personally think it's more creative, interesting, and fun than its prequel. Besides, it was the first hack I ever played, and thus it has a special place in my heart. It's a huge inspiration to everything I do, more so than TSRPR. I can't wait for TSRP2R, which should be coming out soon, and when it does I'll definitely play it to revive my TSRP2 memories! 8>

I'd have to say that my favorite completed hack is SMW2+3: The Essence Star. When I first played it back in 2009, I was amazed at how thoroughly Super Mario World had been hacked to produce the game. Golden Yoshi turned what was originally a straightforward 2D platformer into more of a hybrid of platformer and adventure game by incorporating a complex story, fairly nonlinear level progression, and RPG elements such as upgrades and item shops. Other favorites are Mario's Redrawn Adventure and the two Lunar Legends games by Purple Rex.

"You painted my paint job! PREPARE FOR SURGERY!"
- Knockout ~ Transformers Prime "TMI"
Here's the list of my favorite SMW hack (not in order).
1. Mario Keytrastrophe - because of its awesome, epic-sounding music composed by some retired administrator.
2. Zildjian's hack - simple but non-linear level design, and some chocolate sprinkle.
3. Super Mario and Whatever Come to Mind - clever use of graphic, and well-designed non-linear level.

That's should be all.

:D !

my favorite hack has definitely got to be super mario odyssey. it really is the perfect definition of what a smw rom hack should be, at least to me. you definitely know it's made on the engine, you can't make a new game, so you do the best you can to make the old game look new and still be fresh. it's so much fun, and refreshing when compared to like 95% of rom hacks you see. and the crazy part, it was made in 2004 and isn't even finished.

Man, I love the series! My personal favorite one is
Vip ,Wall & Alaska Mix 4
I have so many favorite choices (I actually have one for each aspect), but my overall fav's are Super Mario Odyssey (very nice design with simple but well used gimmicks. It's sad because it's very short, though. :d), Drama Mistery (that gameplay is was so much addictive and challenging... also, it feels like a SNES game of its own), TSRPR (because it's very hi-quality in most aspects) and Legend of The Rift (a very interesting custom story with some exploration elements that don't interfere much with the original platformer gameplay). Also, they're in no specific order, that is, I like each one of them because of their own unique characteristics. I'm a bit convinced that SMWCP 2 will be my all-time favorite once it's done, though.

:D !

Super Mario Odyssey

-It's incredibly fun to play, the graphics are also great.

-It looks like a Mario game, but still manage to be one of the most unique hacks on SMWC.

A Maxi Mini Hack

-A simple but fun hack, really love its level design.

-The graphics, while not being that different from the original, are very nice, with some awesome palettes.

Insert Coin

-It's overall very fun to play, the level design is very good and really well thought out.

-I really love the timer gimmick, it's really fun to play the level over and over again trying to beat your previous time.

-There are a lot of secrets and collectibles, adding a lot to the replay value.

Drama Mistery 2

-The gameplay is overall awesome, it's really fun to play and the game explored it well.

-Level design is very fun, and it actually use the changes made to the gameplay well.

-It feels more like a different game than a Mario hack, as Gloomy Star said (about the first game).

I was actually referring to the first Drama Mistery, but it doesn't matter anyway, since both of them tried to stay away from SMW's original gameplay. Also, I feel it's worth mentioning Pokémon Darkness, since it's one of the few hacks we have here that use a completely different concept from the casual Mario hacks, and puts it into practice superbly. That is, it felt like I was playing a Pokémon platformer, not a Mario hack. I just loved it.
Wait, there's a Drama Mistery 2??
