Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS

I'm pretty sure Lucas will still be in. (maybe 80% sure)
Doesn't make sense to just kick him out since he's the only other character from the Mother series to be in SSB. Unless he's replaced by another Mother character or something.

I was right! There will be a Subspace Emmisary called Smash Run. But it's only exclusive for 3DS version. Hope there will be for Wii U version.
It's not subspace emissary, it just reuses a bunch of assets from it and a bunch of other nintendo games. It's more like City Trial from Kirby's Air Ride. (as in, it should be a fun mode unlike SSE)

Actually, PK is the correct term. PK refers to psychokinesis, while PSI refers to ESP. PK was the term used in Mother 2, while Earthbound incorrectly refers to every psychic attack as PSI. [Source]

Oh, I had no idea what "PK" stood for, if anything. Okay yeah, PK makes infinitely more sense.

"More like"? Try "Pretty much is". :P And that's why I'm soooooo excited for Smash Run! :D

But yeah, like Quizler said, it's NOT a story mode like Subspace Emissary, it's just a fun multiplayer mode that reuses Subspace Emissary enemies.

You know, I just remembered that I found it interesting that King Dedede now only throws gordos instead of RNG with priority Waddle Dees. I got thinking that maybe Waddle Dee will have a larger role in this game, at least the one with the blue headband...

Possible Waddle Dee spears into battle hype? #smw{o_O?}

Nah, I think it's more about buffing Dedede and making things less random. Sakurai's made it clear he's thinking about the competitive side more, where randomness would be seen as the spawn of Satan, so giving Dedede consistency can make him better and easier to use. Same logic to Olimar- his Pikmin roster's been cut in half, but now his Pikmin come out in a set order so you can very easily plan his moves now.

Although, I'm wondering what he's going to do with the randomness of other characters' skills that he hasn't touched on yet, like Luigi's Green Missile. Will he change the misfire to an extra level if you hold it at max charge for a few extra seconds? Will it be a Smash version of it, like how doing a Smash side-B with Samus gets a Super Missile instead of a homing Missle? I want to know before the game comes out! D:

If the fans keep demanding more, though, we may soon end up with just another Street Fighter clone. I can count the number of non-SFclone fighting games on 1.5 hands: Smash Bros., Melee, Brawl, This, This again, PSASBR, and a Shrek game

Dedenne: 4

Swirlix: None yet

At least in this screenshot, most of the Pokémon were revealed to be in Poké balls or Master Balls in Super Smash Bros. 4 previously.

Note that game appearances may be incorrect. I also probably missed many of them, particularly the Pokémon that appeared more toward the beginning of the Greninja reveal video while the Poké Balls were opening. If anyone could help me fill in the missing Pokémon, it would help me document the Pokémon that appeared in the Greninja reveal video and telling which Super Smash Bros. games that they were Poké Ball Pokémon in if there were any in order to support or hinder some posts above.

Plus, [Smash Run is] multiplayer-only.

Huh? I think it's possible to play Smash Run single player as well.

I think Waddle Dees might have a role in Adventure Mode-like modes like Smash Run. To add support to this, in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Waddle Dee and Waddle Doo were originally going to be Subspace Emmisary Enemies, but they were dummied out.

It depends. Olimar is actually one of the best characters in Brawl by far, but his learning curve is through the roof. However, his recovery is horrendous. Sakurai fixed his recovery but nerfed his Pikmin.

I've heard there's a way to cause a misfire by pressing B on a certain frame, though that might just be Project M. Either way, I think that dumbing down ALL of the characters by removing random properties would be detrimental instead of helpful.
The one next to Snivy is Swirlix, not Inkay.

Though Inkay does show up at the end of the line later in the trailer.
I edited my post to say "Swirlix" instead of "Inkay?". Swirlix still hasn't appeared or been revealed as a Poké Ball Pokémon yet.

The line of Pokémon is actually earlier in the trailer than the screenshot that I took. (The Pokémon that appeared in that line that I didn't mention in that screenshot is what I still need to document. If anyone wants to help me, you can. Just write down the names of the Pokémon followed by the Super Smash Bros. games that they were Poké Ball Pokémon in if there were any, just like my post above.)

Inkay: None yet

Here's the whole line

Fletchling and mew are the only ones that are a little harder to spot
Bellosom: Melee, Brawl, 4
Oshawott: None Yet
Goldeen: 64, Melee, Brawl
Fletchling: None yet
Metagross: Brawl, 4
Latios: Brawl
Electrode: Melee, Brawl, 4
Gardevoir: Brawl
Kyogre: Brawl

Zoroark: None yet
Giratina (Altered): None yet

Snorlax: 64, Melee, Brawl
Mew: Melee, Brawl
Lugia: Melee, Brawl
Suicune: Melee, Brawl
Deoxys: Brawl, 4
Latias: Brawl

Meloetta (Aria): None yet
Spewpa: None yet

Fennekin: 4

Well, I think that's all of them. If I forgot any Pokémon or if any Super Smash Bros. appearances are incorrect, either post what I missed or tell me.

Now, judging by the data, 36 Pokémon appeared in the Greninja reveal trailer, excluding the playable characters. Super Smash Bros. 64 has 13 Pokémon Pokémon. Super Smash Bros. 64 does have 5 Pokémon that come out of Saffron City's elevator, but I'm not counting those. Both Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl have 30 Poké Ball Pokémon. So do you think it's safe to say that Super Smash Bros. 4 will have 30 Pokémon as well? I keep thinking yes because Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl both had 30 Pokémon, but at the same time, I keep thinking no because there are now 6 generations of Pokémon. You don't want to have too many Pokémon, though. I think 30 is a happy medium between too many and too little.

However, something else that you have to take note of is that there are some Pokémon that are confirmed to appear in Poké Balls and Master Balls in Super Smash Bros. 4 that have not appeared in the Greninja reveal trailer. They are Arecus (Normal) and Xerneas (Active). Super Smash Bros. 4 may have a bunch more Poké Ball Pokémon that didn't appear in the Greninja reveal trailer.

17 Pokémon are confirmed to be in Poké Balls and Master Balls in Super Smash Bros. 4. 15 confirmed Poké Ball Pokémon were shown in the Greninja reveal trailer. This means that there will be at least 13 more Poké Ball Pokémon in Super Smash Bros. 4, whether they were shown in the Greninja reveal trailer or not. Assuming that Super Smash Bros. 4 will have 30 Poké Ball Pokémon and that all of those 13 remaining unconfirmed Poké Ball Pokémon were shown in the Greninja reveal trailer, that means that 8 Pokémon that were shown in the trailer will not be inside of a Poké Ball or a Master Ball in the game.

However, something else that I'm thinking is that, maybe the 3DS version will have a set of 30 Poké Ball Pokémon and the Wii U version will have a completely different set of 30 Poké Ball Pokémon, making 60 overall.

I think, with all of the ambiguity, that it's safe to say that any Pokémon that says, "None yet" or doesn't have "4" in the games that it appears as a Poké Ball in is unconfirmed. I think we should only say that something is confirmed if we know that the element is 100% going to be in the game.

It wouldn't be such a problem, though, if SSB hadn't started by trying to not be Street Fighter...

Basically any fighting game that isn't somewhat based on Street Fighter is based on SSB. Which isn't to say there aren't variations, tag-team and "3D" fighting games are popular, and no party/sumo/platform fighting game has ever been the same (or remotely as good) as SSB. In reality, each series and game has differences in style and speed. Some fighting games are offensive combo-fests while others are patient and based in mindgames.

Regardless, SSB will never end up a SF clone because of it's complex aerial game and physics. Few fighting games have the freedom of motion that SSB has. The advanced techniques for SSB have also been based around speed and movement instead of the attacks, which are very easy to pull off by themselves. SF clones tend to have advanced button combinations for attacks, with little focus on movement.

Nintendo's going to have smash bros playable at best buy stores during E3!
Around 2 months ago I learned how to easily get to a best buy 20 minutes away from my house. I really hope they set the game up there, I'd be totally excited to play it. They had some other games playable during E3 last year but I'm not sure they set up the demo station at my local best buy, so I'm really hoping for this.

The thing I hate about them doing Best Buy promotions is that they put them in very few stores. They don't really try for wide coverage. For example, there's a best buy about 10 minutes from where I live, but all Best Buy events from Nintendo are elsewhere, never there.

In fact, the last one? Three Best Buys in all of Texas. Three. So I'm expecting the exact same for SSB4, and the only way for most people to have a chance to try it out will be to drive to a town hours away from them. Saddening. :(
