An SMWC Production levels - SMWCX

So, I was thinking of levels for this project and I thought, "Hey, why not make a world that's a homage to the first collab project that SMWCentral did."

So I'm trying to remake as many levels from "An SMWC Production" as I can in Super Mario Bros. X and see if they can be a part of this project. I want to try to remake all of the levels that can possibly be made in Super Mario Bros. X for this project and you guys decide which levels go into the final product, but at the same time, I don't want to remake levels because I want to get started on a Super Mario World hack.

Download the completed levels here. So far, only two levels are completed, but that number will go up.

This is something I actually proposed back when this project started. The difference here is that I would've picked levels with a bigger "impact" of the original game, for better or worse. (read: Levels such as And So it Begins... and Sunny River) would not be high on this list.

I was kind of thinking about that, too. I figured I'd just remake all of the levels starting from the beginning, but since we're just taking ten or so levels and putting it into a world, you're right. Instead of just remaking them all, we could just take the top ten best levels from "An SMWC Production", maybe one level per world and put them into a world in SMWCX.

Maybe we could do the same thing for SMWCP2. Just remake the top ten best levels and put them into a world in SMWCX. Since SMWCP2 isn't released yet, this could give players a sneak peek at SMWCP2. But don't expect me to remake any levels from SMWCP2 because I'm not downloading it until the final release.

I pretty much have most of the "universal stuff" that's the same in every level already made. All you'd really do is just change stuff like the palettes and they're ready to be used in a level. Some of the "universal stuff" is in the "And So It Begins..." and "Sunny River" folders. I also have some unused "universal stuff" that I ripped, but never used in neither "And So It Begins..." nor "Sunny River". I could include the unused "universal stuff" if you want.

And another thing is, O.K., I actually downloaded a battle level for use in Battle Mode from the Internet. The level itself doesn't seem to be related in any way to "An SMWC Production", however the battle level uses the exact same tileset that the SMWCP level, "Sanctuary Fortress" uses! The background, tiles, animation, everything is the same as "Sanctuary Fortress"! Not all of the tiles that "Sanctuary Fortress" uses are in there, but wow, what luck. Someone must have went and ripped those "Sanctuary Fortress" tiles just like what I did with "And So It Begins..." and "Sunny River". I could include the "Sanctuary Fortress" tileset if you want, if that's a level that you'd want to remake or if you'd want to make a completely custom level with that tileset. Just keep in mind that I didn't make the "Sanctuary Fortress" tileset for "Super Mario Bros. X."

There's been a bit of drama about the SMBX people ripping our shit without asking, but it's been resolved just as quickly as it popped up.

Maybe rather than having one SMWCP level per world, we could have a special world that unlocks itself after beating the main game that pays tribute to SMWCP. As for what levels will return, I can't help much unless I go back and look since I only remember he levels that were badly designed or misplaced on the world map.

I don't know about everybody else but I'm not too big on the idea of having remakes of SMWCP levels in SMWCX. I mean we already have those levels and anyone who wants to play them can just play SMWCP. I personally think that this project should feature entirely NEW levels no remakes.
