Overall: The hack overall is fine. Level design was ok for the most part, there was some places that could have been improved. The addition of walljumping was nice, but I think the level design should maybe explore it a little more. There were some minor cut-off around it aswell, like the lava and the pipes in the castle.
Main Removal Reason:
> The pictures you submitted with your hack are not the best. It is recommended that the screenshots should be clean, without watermarks and such. You can take screeshots easily with the major emulators (Zsnes, Snes9x and BSNES), so I recommend you to do that instead. Here is a quick explanation on how to do it on them:
- Zsnes: To take a screenshot on this one, while in game, press F1 to show the Misc Options, and then "Save Snapshot". Make sure that the Image Format is PNG, not BMP.
- Snes9x: For this one, you can check for the hotkey (Input and then Customize Hotkey or Alt+F9) and configure the button you press for it on Page 1. (I'm not sure which button it is by default since I changed mine)
- BSNES: For this one, simply click on Tools and then Capture Screenshot.
(Reminding that if you are using different versions of some of the emulators, the options and such might be different as well)
> Besides that, another thing that also happened at the end of the hack, after the cutscene of the castle ends, the game crashes for some reason, leaving me unable to continue.
Minor Mistakes:
> The colors for the file selection doesn't look that great. The most usual colors are outlined black and white in the inside.
> Fast reaction moments. You might think that the Bob-Omb walks slow enough, but this might not be the case for some other people.
> I accidentally burn the Koopa Troopa and now I can't proceed. Well, to be fair, there were other koopa troopas behind, so luckily, I had means to escape, but still, if I have burned them as well, I'd be stuck and had to commit suicide.
> There were some blind jumps on the hack as well. I suggest you to put coins indicating where the player should land.
> Well, I think you should mention that the player should have enough speed aswell.
> And I think that you should also explain that you can only walljump in the same wall once.
And last, but not least, the last level of the demo was really big and it had no midpoints. A midpoint would be really nice, specially because the boss is really confusing and surprinsingly hard. The first 2 phases are easy enough, but from the third one, his reactions are different and he's a lot faster, damaging him becomes really annoying at this point as well. Speaking of which, you should add a message block explaining how to hit him, because I spent the first try only throwing shells at him thinking I was damaging him.
