As of now, the chest only includes six songs as the seventh one...well I'll get into that.
As well as including SPC's with my ports, I decided to upload them all to the magical land of YouTube. The videos of the ports contain annotations that lead to MP3's Versions of the current song or the
This song is supposed to have a Grassland/Introductory level vibe to it. Best for those kinds of places.
Apprehension and Determination
My first ever SMW Custom Song that best fits castle stages.
A simple and ubeat song that would fit well with opening/closing cutscenes.
Super Mario Bros. 2: Underworld (Grassland Remix) / (Lava Remix)
A port/remix of the SMB2 Underworld Music, it originally was just the Grassland Remix, but by changing a few instruments the atmosphere of the song can be changed completely (as demonstrated by the lava remix).
Bounce On: Cute'N Happy
Bounce On (created by TeamPhobic) is one of those obscure iOS games that was overshadowed by the greatness of Angry Birds and that like (or at least I thought it was). However, the game and its sequel are pretty good platforming games that are worth checking out. The tracks in this game, though few, are well done. It should be noted that this port is not the complete song, but loops after a certain point, making it good for the Overworld.
I'm loving the music you got here TheOtherGuy25! My honest fav would have to be "Apprehension and Determination."
I too agree about the Grassland/Lava remix. Those few instrument changes do indeed change an atmosphere.
I think "A Journey Begins" is my favorite, partly because it seems to fit its intended environment so well. "Peaceful Day" is nice, too- it has that simple, somewhat nostalgic feeling that's often appropriate for opening menus (think File Select from Super Mario 64). With the remixes, you also managed to give an old song some new life by themeing it differently, which I thought was pretty cool.
Overall, I could see these actually being used in projects, so good work (:
