EvilGuy0613's Tileset Rips + Yoshi's Rescue Mission - Showcase Video

What's up? First I'd like to start by saying I actually really wasn't planning on doing anything this C3. For anybody who's been following my youtube, you'd probably know that I've been working on my Vanilla hack staring Yoshi and was trying to get it released on C3.

Hack Thread

Well unfortunately I wasn't able to finish it all the way before C3, though this only means that I have an opportunity to polish the hack more before final release. (It's really close to being fully finished.) So my plans to release the hack during C3 are cancelled sadly.

So I'm going to do what I did during lasts years C3, which was rip tile sets during the weekend. This was pretty much a last minute type deal as you can probably tell but I have at least 4 ripped tile sets to start off with. I at least plan to rip 2 more before C3 is over and hopefully I can do that. So anyways now to show screen shows and provide download links.

Megaman X2 - Wire Sponge Stage

Note: I actually ripped this one awhile ago but never actually fully completed the rip. I have managed to make a few levels using these graphics despite it not being fully complete so I figured I release them anyways.

Some of these rips were exclusive but I decided to release them since it's C3. Spark Mandrill I just finished a this morning which was actually ripped for C3.

Thank you for the Megaman graphics! It will be useful in my upcoming hack.
Well, while I don't find 8-bit graphics or Mega Man X graphics to be terribly useful in SMW hacks, you seem to have done quite a good job ripping them. The Wire Sponge one is my favorite; I never really noticed the detail on that one before.

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.
Hey evilguy, nice job, is very pretty your rips :D! in especial Megaman X2 - Wire Sponge Stage
Your rips are looking very good.
I agree that those graphics aren't really fitting to SMW, but nothing beats us to turn them all in something fitting as well!

Excellent job dood. I'm not really familiar with the original games but those rips look really good either way. I'm sorry about your hack, I hope to see it released soon though! :3
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?
While I'm a bit disapointed that Yoshi's Mission didn't make it, It doesn't stop me from saying that those graphics are really good. I could use this in one of my levels, actually.

@Koopster @ Daizo Dee Von: Yeah I'm pretty bummed myself that I didn't get to finish it before C3. It's kind of my fault for procrastinating so much though. Good can come out of this though as the actual release will be better then the C3 release being that I'm not timed on releasing the hack.

Thanks for the comments guys. Kind of surprised but glad at the same time that Wire Sponge's tile set seems to be favored over the others, considering it was never fully completed. Well unfortunately due to being pretty busy yesterday, I wasn't able to rip any more tile sets and about time I start today, C3 most likely will be over when I finish. So...........this isn't exactly the end of this C3 thread yet however. Not only that but after C3 I may be ripping more tile sets and releasing them, as well as submitting all the ones ripped during this C3 to the site and accepting rip request.

This thread isn't exactly over yet because I have just one more thing to show. I decided put together a level trailer video for Yoshi's Rescue Mission to show progression of the hack and how close it is to being finished. It is in fact really close to being finished as there's only about 3 more levels to finish within the hack and that doesn't include the final level as that's already finished! Before I link to the video, here's a bit more info about the hack.

For anybody who’s just viewing the hack for the first time or doesn’t know any information about this hack, allow me to explain. Yoshi’s Rescue Mission is a side project and even though it features the same Yoshi that was in Super Mario World – The After Years, it doesn’t tie in to the Super Mute World series. It is also a Vanilla hack with an exception of some custom content such as bosses, music. Health bar and of course the main character. All the levels were made with everything the original SMW has to offer. This was also meant to be a smaller project than SMW The After Years and not story based. (Though there’s still a plot.) While it still is a smaller project, it actually turned out to be a bit bigger than I thought as this hack has at least 60 levels from what I counted. It has a total of 6 Worlds and a final world which is a lot shorter then the other worlds.
