Powertool (now with tanuki and bee suits for everyone)

Powertool is a tool for inserting and modifying powerups that I made a while ago(see this thread for details)

I updated it to add more tanuki and bee suit and less bugs (for the purpose of this statement, the bee suit is not considered a bug)

Download here

Note: some powerups are missing frame(usually those related to yoshi and puching nets, because the image I took the graphics from were missing those frames and I can't draw)

Special thank to andy_k_250 for drawing some frames for tanuki mario, KYZ for making the bee mario spritesheet that I used and Rapid The Hedgehog for the spritesheet that I used for various powerups

On a related note, I plan on making a hack based on the shop thing that appear in the tanuki mario video

This tool is probably my favorite thing to have come along recently in SMW hacking. It's also the thing I've been waiting for the longest. I can't express how happy I am to see it being further developed. More than nearly any other tool, I think this has the most potential to revolutionize SMW hacking. Each official Mario game has a mix of power-ups and now each hack can, too. Sorry for not getting those missing frames completely finished but they should not take much to wrap up.

[?] Miscellaneous Helpful Hints
If I moderated your hack, there was apparently a 90 percent chance it was rejected.
I can't wait to test this out when I get on my desktop!!!! I really enjoyed playing with the previous version. This tool can free a lot of graphic space for Mario. I remapped and created gfx for Mario and Luigi (all power ups). I thank Bio for creating a magnificent tool for all hackers out there. :D
*Sigh* Oh, Bio, how am I supposed to make any progress on my hack when you insist on releasing such exciting new distractions?

Kidding aside, I'm loving every Powertool update more. I knew you'd been planning to include the Tanuki suit, but the bee suit's a surprise. Definitely one of my favorite things this C3!

It's fine, I'm glad that you are making them
I clicked the apply change to rom... how do I use it now? I know I had to insert GFX to fix the berry-Mario, but do I need custom sprites to use the powerups? If so, do I insert it with sprite tool, and what do I put in the list?

I barely have time to myself anymore, so I won't be very active on here anymore. I'm sorry.

this is explained in this thread

Basically, you use the sprite and the block that come with powertool
This is awesome. The bee and Tanuki suits are in SMW? I am way beyond impressed Bio. Maybe we can get all the powerups thus far into SMW using your tool

Confusing... how do I insert these? Is there some special method with spritetool? Or am I just missing everything?

Extras

I should have something witty to put here (even if it's just to update dated info), shouldn't I?

Advertising Space

1. Insert GenericPowerup.asm/.cfg with Sprite Tool.
2. Open up powerupblock.asm and find this near the top of the file.
Code
	LDA #$00 ;Custom Sprite Number

Change 00 to whatever number you inserted the sprite as.
3. Insert powerupblock.asm using BTSD and assign the tiles it uses as xx00-xx0E. That is all a single row. Yes, you will be inserting that same block from xx00-xx0E.
4. Run PowerTool on your ROM and the rest should be simple.

If you don't know how to use either Sprite Tool or BTSD, there are tutorials for them available.

Bio himself should know how much I love the tool already by how much I fanboy about it on IRC, so I'll save myself the gushing here.

When I apply changes to my rom, it just changes my Mario running GFX and Mario going up on OW GFX. Any solutions?
I feel like it's... before I even joined the site? Didn't you have make some custom powerups some extraordinarily long time ago that got stuck in the patches sections for years and years?

(Actually, I hope that doesn't sound rude..)

The Browse button for the animation box doesn't seem to work.

I can confirm this. I suggest you just manually type the path for now.
Yeah, I just pasted the path in from another block since I was using an existing animation.

Solution: Rename your ROM. Headered ROMs should be named something.smc; unheadered ROMs should be named something.sfc; anything else confuses Asar.

I'm pretty sure it was named properly. I tried with xkas and it worked though, so I edited out the issue from my post.

Thanks though! I don't seem to actually get answers to my questions very often...

Well crap. I told myself I'd come back to hack more SMW if poweruptool got released. See you guys back around.

thanks, I can't believe I missed this
I posted about help with this tool here, but I 'll try the original thread.

Can anyone out there help me get this tool working. I tired everything that I could, but It keeps either corrupting Mario's gfx or freeze whenever I touched a custom powerup. Please someone help. Then I'll make a tutorial myself afterwards to help others who was stuck like me.
