Yoshi's Ice World - WIP Soundtrack - Summer 2013

As some of you may already know, I have started on a fan game called "Yoshi's Ice World" a while back (which can be seen in this thread). Unfortunately, I haven't touched it for a while since I have been putting more focus on my Mega Man fan game. However, I've still been working on the music for it, so here are some of my original compositions that I will be using in the game. Note that these may not necessarily be the final versions of these particular songs, as I will probably end up doing more polishing later on. Despite this soundtrack being almost entirely original, there are some musical references to Yoshi's Island and Mario Galaxy, but they should be pretty recognizable ;)

I'm in the process of listening to this right now, and it's absolutely beautiful. I've always liked your compositions since I heard the Bowser Strikes Back OST, which I still have on my computer. Honestly I've never really thought about adding that one to the current soundtrack, though I am quite happy with the way that one has turned out and it could possibly fit with the style of the rest of my songs. I'll definitely consider it. Glad you enjoyed that one!

These tracks fit the concept of a Yoshi platformer very well, plus I'm pretty impressed by how you've managed to make each song sound distinct enough despite having the same overall wintry theme. In that sense it kind of accomplishes what the Snowboard Kids soundtracks have done.

That said, Shiver Shore still sounds like one of your best to me. I mean, pretty much all of them have a good sense of atmosphere, but for some reason Shiver Shore has that memorable aspect to it- maybe it has something to do with the melody?

Oh, yes, Cloudy Paradise is definitely one of my favourite tracks too.
I already know I'm gonna love this soundtrack even before I actually listen to it...but jokes aside, it really does sound amazing. You always manage to make catchy melodies which actually have some sort of emotional vibe, and that makes your style unique and inspiring.
I'm definitely looking forward to play Yoshi's Ice World one day...keep up the awesome work!

I've already heard a few of these songs from your YouTube videos, so naturally the ones I liked I listened to the longest; until I heard Shiver Shore.

Nonetheless, as usual you have made some excellent compositions; I would love to hear an HQ arranged version of Shiver Shore sometime.

Yoshi, ice levels, and original music. You know it's Jimmy when he has those three together.

I no longer have interest in SMW Hacking as I did when I first started several years ago.
