I'm having trouble with the N64Rip .zip file as anytime I try to open up N64Rip.exe an error comes up saying "Cannot execute "C:\Users\****\AppData\Local\Temp\Rar$EX05.565\N64Rip.exe"", I can't extract the program either, if there are any methods to fixing this or an alternative download please let me know.
hmmm...., i don't have this problem, try redownloading or if you can, google n64rip and see what comes up.

It sounds like you're trying to run an executable inside a zip file without extracting it first. Try extracting the zip file to a folder, and running the program from there.

I have tried extracting it, but it won't show up where I extracted it.
...are you sure? Extracting files is an operation that shouldn't be too troublesome, and is unrelated to the actual tool. What are you using to extract the file? Right click, Extract all? 7Zip? WinRAR? Double check that you're extracting the files to the folder that you're in.

I'm using WinRAR and I've tried all its methods of extracting and it can't seem to extract N64Rip.
I just tested it from the Tools section (why do we still have a stickied tools thread?), using WinRAR as well, and I'm able to extract it directly into that folder, as well as to its own folder. One possibility is that the zip folder is corrupt, and that some data got lost in the download. Have you tried redownloading the file?

Failing that, I've got nothing else, but perhaps if you provide more information about exactly what you're doing, that might help.

I've tried redownloading it numerous times and they all failed, after reading this reply I then tried deleting the original download and all the redownloads after it but I'm still encountering my problem stated in the very first post of this thread, and I'm pretty sure I've been giving the bare bones of my dilemma so I can't really explain further than now.

Maybe you can send me a mirror of your download in some way whether it be something it be something like puush, dropbox, or skype (which if you want to try via skype I have my name on my profile). If that doesn't work I'll try doing something along the lines of a system restore or disk defragment.
Where did you download your from? I download my from the Jul forum and it work just fine.

I've been downloading it from this site's tool section.

Right here.
Did you try using the download link Meltfire suggested?

I did, the .exe download only had the import and export programs and not N64Rip itself.

I've been watching this thread for a while and I can only guess that you have an antivirus program which is preventing you from extracting or running N64Rip. Most antivirus programs get false-positives if the file isn't commonly downloaded (or other reasons), which may be the reason why you're having trouble #ab{:S}

Hmm that's a bit odd. When you run the exe it should automatically unpack 4 programs to the folder location of where N64Rip.exe is:

import.exe
export.exe
nconvert.exe
byteswap.exe

Then after doing that the Frontend itself should start running and you'll get this:

To clarify, N64Rip.exe IS N64Rip.exe, all of the code is in the exe you can download by itself or in the zip version. It won't extract another copy of itself. I do however agree with the antivirus thing. Some antivirus programs are really stupid and see any program packed in UPX (which mine is) as a virus. I'll go upload an normal non-packed version and see if that helps. Note it will be twice as large.

If you want to try using the offical links, as I've only JUST updated the tool on this site:

N64Rip.zip
N64Rip.exe
N64Rip.exe not upx compressed

The only difference between the zip version and the exe version is that the zip has a readme.txt file and the exe. If you were really having trouble extracting the exe from the zip file just go for the exe download.

Your links helped me a lot, being that they gave me just what I needed which was a non-corrupt zip.

I'd like to thank anybody who has tried to help me with these difficulties.
