Anyone ever have this kind of problem?

I feel very inspired to make some levels, and I have many ideas running through my head, but I can't focus on one theme, like, if I want it to be a volcano level, forest, ghost house, etc. And then when I try to make one I don't feel like it anymore. It also has to do with me thinking if the levels would even fit in anywhere on my hack. It's like I'm overwhelmed by possibilities... Maybe it's some kind of "hacker's block???" I don't think I'm making ANY sense right now, but anyone ever feel something similar to this?
I Fell like that all the time. whenever i feel inspired to make a kaizo level the same thing happening to you happens me.
You're not the only one that is suffering from that, bro, and I know the feels. What I do is decide one theme for the levels and vary it, same thing would apply for gimmick levels of any kind. I also test my ideas to see if they're possible or not, and which level they would fit and all. Try doing that so you won't feel uninspired, or then take a break to relax and think on what to do for your level.

That seems to only happen to me if I'm making a level for a contest. As a result, I try to incorporate elements of all the themes because I don't wanna wait another year, and as a result the level is too long/difficult/confusing/incoherent/whatever, and doesn't score well.

I know that feeling. I'm brainstorming level design ideas for a volcanic forest, and this is what I have:

Nothing.
Still nothing.
Pointless table stretch.

I deleted the old version of the level because it was worse than crap.
Damn hacker's block...
Usually inactive/procrastinating on a hack idea.
I think "hacker's block" is the perfect term for this... I'm really glad I'm not the only one though.

I think I'll just have to start tackling these ideas, one at a time.

Its a very common thing that happens to a lot of people. Its best not to overwork yourself and take a break every once and a while. Just don't take too long of a break or you'll lose all motivation. :P
