My first Kaizo hack

Kaizo

This is my first ever kaizo hack, its called forced to be super.
In this vanilla hack you need to keep the single mushroom you get at the start until the last level.

To download please paste into another tab:

I am sorry you cant just click it, I am just to stupid to set it correctly.

EDIT: now goes to Version 1.1, which has an easier first jump and way less flashing blocks.

I'm not very good at kaizo, but...

You can't go anywhere with the mushroom.

You seem to love those weird glowing "NO" blocks that are ON blocks with the palates changed and graphics flipped that also act like munchers.

Cutoff. Also, I could not get past this part because you need the disco shell to hop on.

That's all, expect more criticism from more experienced hackers. And don't get too defensive about your hack.

Oh yeah, and you use html or the little buttons at the top of the writing field.

Just make a few edits to make it non-pit.

Mario can shell jump a bit higher than the wall height. I think you're okay with making them over 6 tiles high.

I couldn't get past here because I didn't know what to do. Maybe I should have taken the key with me? I had to look in Lunar Magic and I found the switch way above that point. Any reason it was set to no vertical scroll? That would make key jumping possible only in theory.

Well, you can I bet, but you would need to slow down the game to 1 fps and spam save states...But that might just be me.

Thats right, now I see that I should have enabled vertical scroll too.
Still, there is no need to Keyjump as you can simply lure the bouncing chuck and jump on it mudair to get up there.
But I should at least give any sign to go up there.

It isnt that extreme, but it should really be easier, I guess.
And i made the glowing NO-blocks because i wanted to make something better than stacked munchers. Not really better, though...

*shrug*

I would use less death blocks or replace them with custom graphics. I usually stick to using only lunar magic, though, and I doubt replacing the graphics with re-palated brown blocks would be any better and most likely worse, so if you don't want to make custom skull block graphics, I cant suggest anything.
Okay Sokobansolver, I will try that.
Right now it looks like Living on the edge, I guess.
And as I cant even set up a simple html I dont think I can insert custom graphics...
I cant even edit the overworld without failing extremely.
If the grey/black switch blocks look better, I take them.
If they dont, I will just stick to what it looks like right now.

1) That is an over exaggeration.
2) HTML code is fairly simple, it goes like [example]this![/example] As for custom graphics, you can extract them with #lm{extgfx} and reinsert them with #lm{insgfx}. Although I would suggest using ExGFX because they are somewhat convenient, press #lm{extgfx} and #lm{extexgfx} and copy a file from the Graphics folder into the ExGraphics folder and edit it in YY-CHR, then reinsert it with #lm{insexgfx}.
3) Practice makes perfect.
4) Sounds good.
1) okay thats right, it looks like an version of it possible for a human.
2) Thanks! I wanted to do a non-kaizo hack too, so i will probably use it there.
3)Right again. But I seriously tried to edit one path... and now I neeeded a pipe instead of a screen exit in my other hack because it always glitched.
4)it looks better like it is than with black or grey switch blocks.

Alright.

I would suggest moving the first "NO" blocks so that we have reaction time.

I would also have the disco shell section from level 2 have a few break points (like a block every 5 tiles).

But, if you think the hack is fine, you can leave it as it is.

Good luck!
okay... the first part is nearly to hard for kaizo, i agree.
I still have to find a way without erasing the trap though, and the disco shell is good like it is in my opinion.
But there is a Level I want to fully re-do, the second level on the right side. There isnt really any challenge there besides of one jump.
