With Kamek's Island finished, it's time to move on to another project. Super Mario Bros. 5 Reborn, while it may be a decent hack, no longer meets my personal quality standards. Unlike the radical changes made from Super Mario Starlight Remix to Mario & Luigi: Starlight Island Adventure, Kola Kingdom Quest will more closely resemble the hack it's based on. It will use many of the same graphics and music tracks, have the same world themes in the same order, and have the same story.
So far, I have the first 3 levels of Tiki Island finished.
TIKI ISLAND 1 - WELCOME TO PARADISE
The beginning of the level. It doesn't take long to get your first power-up.
Going for a Yoshi Coin, which will soon be reskinned into a Star Coin.
The first submap. The Overworld will be COMPLETELY redesigned since the original is incredibly blocky.
TIKI ISLAND 2 - REX RESORT
The first Cheep-Cheep of the game isn't hard to pass.
It wouldn't be Rex Resort without Rexes.
Classic Fireball has been implemented in this hack, just as it was in the original.
TIKI ISLAND 3 - THE TIDE IS HIGH
Yep, it's a tide level.
Just a bonus room.
This level is largely inspired by Yoshi's Island 4 from the original SMW.
Another bonus area in the clouds. I've wanted to have a double rainbow BG for a long time. I've finally made one that looks acceptable.
