You're on a role Gamma V i love the background and designs for world 2-1 and the sub level can't wait to see more of the progress hopefully you'll be finished with world 2 prior to christmas or just after it.

I finally finished 2-2. This level takes place underground and introduces Buzzy Beetles and Swoopers.

Mushroom Plains 2 - Buzzys' Burrow


Never mind the graphically-glitched upside-down Venus on the far-left side of this screenshot. It has been fixed.


I mixed the cave set with the grassland set to make things more interesting.


I might tweak the Swoopers to use Palette F so that I can give them their modern colors.

good stuff but the palette for the background looks a little bright how about making it slightly darker light green

I beg to differ on this one as well. The yellow green sure as hell is very bright with little contrast. I recommet having more of a constrast between the light and dark parts and using a darker luminosity, let alone keeping the vibrancy which I believe, Gamma V is aiming for with her palette choice.

Gamma V, Ive watched your videos showcasing few levels from this hack, and judging by it, has a challenge reminiscennt of Nintendo's designs in their works pertaining to Mario platformers.

This thread's long overdue for an update. A while back, I finished up Mushroom Plains 3. The level is a graveyard level, so it contains Boos and Ghost Goombas (reskinned Eeries.) It's not a puzzle, but it does have 2 exits.

@Master Lakitu: A level in World 3 will be called Eenie Meenie Miney Moai, so you'll be seeing those guys there.

@Dragonfly: The only "cray cray puzzle temple" I can think of is the one in Starlight Island Adventure. This is a different game, but is a sequel to SIA.

Anyway, I've finally made some more progress on this hack.

Bonus Challenge #1 - VS Hammer Bros.


It works just like the ones in SMB3. Get rid of the Hammer Bros, and a treasure chest will appear. The treasure chest will put an item in your Item Box and end the level.

Mushroom Plains 4 - Bouncin' On Mushrooms


The green-topped Mushrooms are bouncy.


Gaddly explains that Blue Koopas outside of castles may indicate bonuses that can be gotten if the player flies with Yoshi. Yoshi himself will become increasingly rare as the game progresses.

I've played this hack before. It is my favorite hack! The new level design looks good. Kudos Gamma V!

World 2 is almost finished. Only the castle remains. With that said, let's take a look at the latest finished levels.

Mushroom Plains 5 - A Job For Super Koopa!


Gaddly explains that Star Coins can sometimes do more than just give you a 1-Up if you've collected them all.


Charlie likes to practice his pitch here. Thankfully, his baseballs can be avoided unless you want some extra coins.

This level introduces us to Spinies and Pipe Lakitus.


You knew Hammer Bros. would show up in regular levels sooner or later.

The title screen looks really great overall. Liking how the big "Mario & Luigi" looks very good as well.

Commenting the previous screenshots, everything looks great so far! Loving the tilesets, level design, literally everything. Though a little suggestion for the sunset levels, try making the clouds with an orange palette instead of a blue one, I think they would fit more like this. As well glad to see you're using your CLDC level in your hack.

Plains Castle - Wendy O. Koopa's Castle


This castle introduces climbing nets, Net Koopas, and Ball 'N' Chains.


Just some Koopas and a Ball 'N' Chain


The second room is vertical and puts a little more emphasis on the nets.


This room also has spikes lining most of the floors and ceilings, forcing you to be a bit more careful with your jumps.


Here's Wendy. Yeah, it's pretty much a vanilla battle. I did use a patch to change her palette though.

This looks like it'll be loads of fun! I like the approach you take your hacks: They're classic, traditionalist Mario games, yet there's something about them that makes them very refreshing.
