Hey guys. It's MCMania332 and I just wanna tell you my major hack I'm currently working. I'm trying to hack SM64 in an extraordinary and intense way. I'm currently working on a project called Super Mario 64 - The Legend of the Stars.

EDIT: I'm deciding if I should change the storyline or not... Please be patient.


Features:
-> The game will have over 130 stars
-> Over 15 emphasized levels
-> Enhanced Mario color
-> Harder Bowser
-> Over 20 music hacks originally made
-> Includes ASM and hex modifications such as:
* New HUD (from ShyGuyHex)
* Modified camera (from Skelux)

-> Over 15 over-emphasized and HQ levels
-> Enhanced Mario color
-> Some parkour-style actions like Slide Kick, Long Jump and Safe Landing.
-> Harder Bowser

The game has demo and full versions. The demo is the pre-patched version, but the full release will need PPF patch to play.

"impossible" is used imporperly, it's of course possible. there are N64 games using custom cutscenes and so it is possible to recreate them. Skelux has allready started to code a fighting mode and if you'd translate a mp3 - engine from any high level for n64, you could also use it.

Post pictures or gtfo. We want to see your level design, the 'extra' touch ups on your hack such as custom behaviors, or replicating something from an older mario game or newer through smart hacking, meaning you use your brain.

Level design is a huge thing with mario64 hacking, if your level is lacking structure, like details making the map feel alive then no one will really enjoy it. You should have levels with interesting environments and in game puzzles and problem solving to do things that may at first seem impossible. Like perhaps hitting an invisible block on a jump that knocks you down to your death (Smw style). Or something like that.

You don't always have to make threads about releasing your hacks, you should be practicing what you understand and applying it. What is beyond your current state of comprehension should be put on the side until you better your skills at level designing.

For Smasherx74, that was one nice idea of yours! I'm-a put that on my hack. I'm still progressing in the level "Whomp's Floating Habitat" for the items, and I have a problem about this kind of warp pointers.

THIS IS MCMANIA332 FOR THE UPDATE!
I'm finished on the Whomp's Floating Habitat level and thanks to Kazeshin for the tree shadows patch. I also modified and changed the hue of the HUD. I'm also finished on my Main Hub (only model, not objects) so I am currently progressing on my first level called "Goomba Plains". Sorry I don't have some screenshots. I want to know, can someone do the 3d coins for me? It's okay for either Kazeshin or Skelux, I'll give my model of my coin and my hacked ROM if you do 3d beta testing. I'll give credit.

The making of my Main Hub was failed, because of the error "Property not found: #texture" error in TT64. So I created a so-ver basic stage for the Main Hub... Sorry. By the way, It is possible that the demo will release on Christmas! So...

To avoid that error in TT64, try to import the level checking the "ignore material file" box, then, when you have finished using TT64, you can reimport in the usual way. ;)

A nice advice, but it's only a demo, so I'll go over a basic Hub having 2 courses only. I'll test that in future. By the way, do you know about 3d coins? If so, can you do it?

I have never been interested in 3D coins because I think that old 2d coins do their job well. However ask kazeshin for that.

when the importer doesn't find the material file, it applies random textures (maybe depending on the object banks selected). but this is needed only to make TT64 open your level so you can place objects in there. After that, you have to reimport with "ingore material file" unchecked in order to display your model's textures.

Come to think of it, December 25 is nearing! That means it's the release date of the demo of Legend of the Stars! Gotta be excited (or not...)!

What? "or not..."? Yes, that's because I am thinking whether will I release the hack on the desired date or will I move to another date which is January 1, 2014. And of course, if December 25's the date, then this is the Christmas gift for you all fans of Super Mario 64 hacking.

Also, congratulations to DobieMeltfire, the creator of "Year of the Plumber" hack, for making it to the SM64 forum moderation.

Dear God, can someone make me a SM64 music moderator? I can also create music. And speaking of music, I am now open for receiving music hacks for SM64. Kindly PM me for the request. Thank you.

Special thanks to Megaman511again as one of my STAFF for ideas of my level WIP, Goomba Plains, eventhough some are not used.

And I've modified Skelux's Super Mario Star Road and I've named it "Update v1.2" as a support.
