Not hijacking at all.

Here's a little secret. The sword is Cape Mario, the Deku Leaf is small Mario. ;)

I had this idea too.

But im to lazy to make any hack right now or custom sprites+plus the fact i dont know hw to make custom sprites.

Anyways godluck!
I just made my first sprite! Actually, I just added some code to an existing sprite, but isn't that what everyone does? :P

Now I need to make a village, and then populate it with my new sprite (as soon as I tweak it's tilemap and speed, and figure out how to make it walk back and forth).

Lemme guess, it's a person that you can talk to that displays level message 1 or 2 depending on the extra bit. There is one that stands and one that either walks or runs.

Did I get it right?

--------------------
FUCK KILL STEAL SHIT
Yep. No extra bit, though. I'm just doing that part by hand since I don't know how to set extra bits yet.

Howdo you plan to use these people? Are they just going to be meaningless people with the intention of just being there to make everything so deserted or will they serve a meaningful purpose or both?

--------------------
FUCK KILL STEAL SHIT
They will tell the story just like in any other Zelda game. Some will pop up in different places besides the village and give advice or serve other purposes like tending to a shop or toll bridge (Where you have to pay him to pass). You won't see a single message box in the whole game.

And I'll release them when they don't have any bugs. So far, I have a couple that I'm working on fixing. I may require help from someone else, but there's so few people here that understand the mechanics of sprite ASM that it's like pulling teeth to get help with sprites.

Wow, you're really stretching yomake this just like a Zelda side-scrolling platformer. I hope you upload the sprite soon; it will be very useful for my (not ready to present) hack.

Well, Dispari just wrote me and said she's been working on an NPC sprite. I'm sure her's will be way less buggy than mine, so I'm going to just use her's. But I'll still use the one I made for a certain sprite. Because it'll be funny. :)

NCP sprites! (Thanks, Dispari!)

Sorry about the annoying music restart glitch. There's nothing I can do about it.

Very nice, your hack is transforming into a SPM like hack (I mean like 2d and RPG at the same time). Keep up the good work! :)
That looks (and sounds) awesome. About the music glitch: You could still apply the "No music" setting to the house-level. Should work with smkdan's latest version of the tool. Unfortunetely, the music will restart when you go back to the main area. If anything fails you can try cover it up with using a different music track in the house.

--------------------

I thought about that. I set it to no music for the house, and it was like an awkward moment with no music playing. lol. And it's too late to add another song since I've already done sprites and GFX and patches and all that.

Yes, This hack looks wonderful, and I cant wait to get my greasy hands on Demo 1. If everyone else doesn't want to make a userbar for it, then i might, but it wont be good -_-

Did you use this:

Since AddMusic's main code will rewrite the music number even if the music number was same between two levels, the music will restart. I made a new code to fix this problem. (Use xkas to insert.)
But, if you have a plan to use smkdan's Sample Utility for your current hack, I suppose this code will be meaningless. I haven't tried that tool out, though, if his tool won't reupload same data when the sample-bank-numbers between levels are same, this might work with his tool...

? That might work. I heard it DOES work, but since I don't use Addmusic (or the "No Music" setting), I have no use for it, so I can't test to make sure it works.

Also, your hack is looking nice. Do you think you might be able to find SOME way to make it so you don't spin when you swing your sword? It looks...wrong, IMO. :<

I'm using the sample utility. The patch doesn't work. In fact, it screws things up if you are using the sample ut. with custom music.

Thanks! I have tried and tried to make it act like a normal sword, but haven't be able to yet. Maybe someone with more knowledge could lend a hand. All I need is for the cape spin to just happen on one side, depending on which direction you're facing.

Whoa, that's awesome!
This hack looks great so far, keep up the good work! ^^
And also, have you based this bomb code on something?
