I just feeled the need to mention about my hack: Real Mario, which is available for download in unmodarated hacks. Maybe is not the best hack in the world, but I'm sure is pretty good and fun to play.
The only reason I'm talking about it its because I want people to play it and enjoy it.
Well, those colors I put them because I like them.
Um, maybe I deserve to be criticized because of overrall looks, but I would like if they could say something about the gameplay (good or bad, critics are for making better)

Gradient in this case means a set of colors at different levels of darkness. The darkness must by little by little in a gradient to make it smooth (not while black).

Oh, ok! I got it. But again, I like those colors. But I hoped everyone or liked it didn't care. Guess it should have a fix, then.
Got it, stacked up munchers must leave. But what can I use for moments were I want challenges like that one? And I can easily remove the background scroll (I just wanted to give the flying effect).
PS: the Big Mario issues, that wont go. It's strategical.

That's not strategical, that's just annoying. Sorry for the harsh wording, but either you want the player to be able to pass while being bid, or you don't.
Making a long narrow path, won't force anyone to take a hit. I recomment the usage of custom blocks.
I also think you don't yet know how to use the MAP16. You should really look up some tutorials about that. You can make easy custom graphics or blocks, to prevent cutoff and ugly appearance using it. (Like fixing your floating munchers for example)

Guess I will have to do a re-release after I fix those problems, then.
And yes, I would love to get rid of ugly cutoffs, and I will have to see the custom blocks, because there's "certain level" in the hack I REALLY want to keep hard in the way of don't touch the surroundings or you will die.
Thanks for the Constructive Critics. Wait for the fixed Re-release of Real Mario.
>if you improve your design a bit. i recommend taking a look at some of the vanilla hacks in this site to learn a bit about design and palettes, not to sound rude.

You are not being rude at all. Thanks for the sugestion.
Just one thing, though. We all know my game looks bad, but what about the gameplay? Is it good, or it needs a lot of fixing (i know it needs a little fixing).
Big Mario discrimination automatically makes a hack bad in my eyes, and there's a lot of repetitive bits, like the airship level. Try to vary your structures, such as adding slopes and using different sprites.
Also don't rely on munchers for your level design, they scar my eyes when used too much.
-------------------- Usually inactive/procrastinating on a hack idea.
Using the existing title screen letters like that is never a good idea as it looks messy.
Also, use the letters and numbers that don't have the black background.
>The title screen looks...Eeh..Heh..shit. Use letters. LeTtErS. I'm being rude to you, i know, But i'm trying to help. The tile selector have various tiles, and use the lettes without the black part.
>If you're going to make a vanilla hack, Take good use of Map16 Tiles. You can copy a tile and flip it, then it will act as a new tile but still vanilla.
>That's your first hack? well again it looks bad.
Sorry for being rude' :c
Now keep writing, you're better at that than hacking lol
