Mario's Quest to find out why this Hack is Hard

Kaizo

Plot: Mario must find out why these levels are very hard.
(formerly marios quest to eat peach's cake)

so i just y'know felt like making kaizo levels and that's what i did.
it is pretty intense and i've already made 1 level

some screenies

the very beginning of the level log is not solid to mario

this part is the hardest part of the level because of the fast moving bullet bills (not pictured) and the 1 tile space between flunchers
(yeah, yeah, will attach them to HEAVY SOLID CONCRETE cause somehow that makes them justified)

mario must spinjump down the small 1 tile wide vertical shaft and be careful not to kill the disco shell

Other than the cut-off and flunchers, this hack so far looks decent.

Interesting, it certainly looks kaizo, but there's some lingering cutoff, and minor glitched graphics when you hit a note block throughout the level. Other than that it looks pretty cool and like something that some of the more hardcore hackers (*coughSokobansolvercough*) will enjoy.

this is an ice level where i'll be focusing on trying to squeeze every bit of difficulty from the slippery effect as i can also focusing on hard to make jumps between platforms (not necessarily long jumps per se.) and in general just screwing over mario cuz that's what kaizo is about right?

Um, are these palettes and cutoffs going to be fixed? They.. kind of look bad, I know, it doesn't matter much since this is a kaizo hack, but it still would look way better.
Anyways, this is better than most peoples first hacks. This is very creative and very, very good for your first hack, looks like you will be one of the best kaizo hackers ever.

Aesthetics are indeed important even for a kaizo hack; however, I don't mind if there is a cutoff or two, as long as it doesn't become too distracting.

Onto the level itself, it seems decent. At 0:24, couldn't you just wait for the P-switch timer to run out and then hurt yourself in these munchers to get to the pipe rather than getting two mushrooms? I don't understand the purpose of those blue blocks: are they supposed to actually destroy when you hold a sprite or otherwise? I think I'm a bit dumb on this, but I'm just wondering, since some of these blocks did not get destroyed.

it might be possible to run over to the pipe on just 1 mushroom but i doubt there is enough invincibility frames to do it successfully although i can imagine someone doing it

as for the blue blocks, they are programmed to shatter when i press X or Y (aka run/carry) and i touch them which is why i cant directly carry anything on them and have to do this crazy flinging them around and whatnot.
