Well, that's quite orginal.

The disapearing blocks got me curious. Do they return after a while, or disapear FOREVER?

Nice level. The tiles are a bit to bright for what I usually like, but is not bad, and it's graphically well.

Ahem...

Today, I'm going to show off more of the forest planet, Brambiir.








The skull blocks blow up and injure K-16 upon contact.

There is also a temple area to this level, that uses layer 2. It's the main enemy here, as it is either trying to crush you or trying to put you in the lava.

The lava does look good, but personally, I would leave the moving lava for other levels.

I've went ahead and improved the space station tileset again, as I've been a bit dissatisfied with it. I went ahead and added some new foreground tiles into the mix, so the tileset has a bit of variation, and hopefully looks nicer overall. I also went ahead and ExAnimated the original foreground (a moving pattern which is hard to see in a still shot), which may look better.







Anyway, please comment and give feedback! ^.^
I forgot what it was called but the green letters on the top of the screen where it says your lives and stuff. It's a bit difficult to read. I recommand just making it white instead of green.

The new tiles look good, but what BS said it's true. You can barely see the letters. But white wouldn't help much neither.

The levels look impressive with ExAnimation. Good job!!

Hey I just did a run of the demo.

Overall this hack is worth playing from the backgrounds and spriteworks alone. The overworld is outstanding. I've been impressed by some shades of purple and black in starworlds of most Chocolate hacks I've played but this is the only hack where my jaw just dropped and I admired the OW for a while before I actually started playing.

The character design is great. It really contrasts K-16 from Sicari. Sicari, being basically Mario with a ground pound, wall jump and horizontal bullets instead of bouncing ones.
I loved how you based your design of K-16 on the fact that she's a robot.

SPOILER ALERT:

Being able to shoot lasers by default, being able to take more hits than Sicari(possibly a glitch but sometimes I was still able to continue playing with 0 hp?), taking away the Spin jump (because she isn't as agile as Sicari I guess). What I loved the most was that she couldn't swim but played like Megaman in water stages; Slowed down and high jump.

Now for her flaws.
1. I noticed she's never able to reach top speed.
2. Holding the 'B' button after bouncing on a critter doesn't give you a boost (because she's too heavy?) I died a few times attempting this thinking I just didn't hold the button hard enough. You probably disabled this so the player wouldn't cheat in levels with invisible platforms.
I found myself using the wall jump a couple of times to avoid obstacles like the flame sticks and thwimps in chapter 10.

It's kind of ironic though that she has an arm cannon by default but half the critters in the game are invulnerable to it. While this doesn't bother me as I'm a turtle shell abuser, there aren't really a lot of shells in levels and having the cannon at all times causes me to be very careful pressing the 'Y' button again to pick up a shell to make sure I don't destroy it.

With these issues, I found the game overall to be more of a memorization and enemy avoidance type rather than platforming skill-based.
These are very noticeable in 'Planet Brimont' and 'The Asteroid Base'

I wouldn't necessarily consider these flaws if you intended it to be that way. I just think K-16 needs at least one other ability to balance out the difficulty.

I ran through Sicari 2 times now and I'm very excited for the release of K-16 and Sicari Remastered. #tb{;)}

I have some new screenshots from Brambiir. I've went ahead and updated the layer 1 background to make it look more realistic and professional.


You can see pipes and such, blending in with the sci-fi theme a bit more.

The pillars are also nicer now, as are the bricks. I updated the pipes to the ones I'm using throughout most of the rest of the hack.

In attempt to continue the forest theme, I added the detail of trees coming down through the ceiling.

Just K getting crushed to death by these moving pipes. Nothing to see here.

More sinking platforms.

And of course, the enemy rooms return from the outside part of the level to keep a consistent gimmick!

If you're wondering why update's aren't as often now, that's because you've all now seen pretty much every level! \o/

All but three... The three final levels - I don't want to show them off, I'd like to keep some surprises along the line! I may show off more of Redfang 1 though.

Well, the graphics look amazing, and the trees coming out are truly good details.

The part with the pipes, though... I'm not sure if pipes are the best graphics to use for crushing, but that's my opinion. If you want to keep them, go ahead.

Yeah, I made it that way, mainly because the default bounce height could make certain sections of the hack (Like the fake platforms in Asteroid Base) way too easy. ^.^

That's a bit of a daft question. One of the primary goals of this hack and its predecessor is to see how much I can transform the original Super Mario World. I've seen how some people believe SMW hacks are getting a bit repetitive - that's why I want to do my best and try and give a fresh experience. I've changed everything, including the gameplay mechanics. The supporters of this hack understand this, and they like transformation hacks like this one!

Speaking of which, this is my 1000th post!!! I'd like to thank everybody who's supported my projects - without your support, I probably wouldn't have even made it to 50 posts! I've been debating whether or not to show off more of the Redfang, but I might just do that. I do have more levels in place to show, so please stay tuned! I will try and update tomorrow, if not, Monday!
