Hello SMWC! o/

I'm not new to the site, but it's been a very long time since I was an active community member, but I eventually stopped making SMW hacks for a while, only to come back for a couple weeks and vanish again. I joined in the summer of 2006 after watching a tas of Demo World TLC, I was only 12 at the time. I was pretty addicted to SMW hacking back that lasted about 3 years. I disappeared from the site probably sometime around 2011 and came back in 2014 for a small project I never finished and still didn't unfortunately. I do recognize some old names, but I would like to keep my previous aliases to myself.

What have I been doing while I was away? Mostly just playing other video games, but also growing up and just life in general can be a lot sometimes. I also recently in the last couple years got into speedrunning, with games like SMW(of course I had too), and Metroid Zero Mission; but most recently would be Pikuniku which I'm the world record holder for.

I came back because I always found myself wanting to do romhacking over the years, but I just never had the time for it. I recently started talking to my partner about it and we both got inspired to work on a project together! I always wanted to get into the technical side of it, like learning ASM and writing/porting songs; a lot of my ideas were usually not doable because I couldn't create them myself and I didn't want my entire project to hinge on someone else's skills/generosity.

I missed SMWC :')
It sure is lovely to hear about returning faces, even though in this case I have no clue who you used to be. In your case, it sounds like you actually have quite a bit of experience under your belt as well. Sweet!

Welcome (back), Frostbyte.

Hey, that's pretty cool and impressive! I have yet to play that game, waiting for my physical version to arrive.

Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
Thank you for the warm welcome, both of you! :>
Welcome back, Frostbyte. I also joined a really long time ago, but I only started becoming actively involved around 2017 (most of my previous years was spent lurking/disappeared).

Hope you enjoy yourself here.

Hm. The suitable time has probably arrived.
The unthinkable Two-Pronged Formation.
This was a bitter decision on my part. Understand?
Hello! I'm DekuSlate. I've actually been on this site quite a lot over the years, whether to download hacks or to look up guides while I tried to figure out what I did wrong in Lunar Magic lol, somehow this is the first time I've ever made an account.

My primary hobby is Video Editing and running my YouTube Channel. Although I come here mostly because I'm starting to rekindle my love for making Hacks and (more importantly) playing other's hacks!

I don't know how active I'll be here, but I'm planning on joining the Discord Server and I'll probably be online a bit and might post a reply to some thread every once and a while. #tb{^V^}

Yes I know the text isn't centered, you can thank Twitter and the way they like to have the PFPs cut into the banners for that one.

Well, hello there DekuSlate, hope you have a nice time here!

YY-CHR > Photoshop.
hey, what's up? I'm Apathy.
I've been a lurker and and very amateur ROM hacker back in 2010-11. after a decade, and with some programming experience, I decided to get back into it.
Very interesting username!

Welcome to the site, Apathy.

Hi. I am a long time Nintendo fan that joined due to lack of Nintendo games to play due to the games not being as fun as they used to be. I hope to meet all of you guys. - Best wishes Flames

About me:
I like to code, make music and play fangames :D
Welcome! I hope you will enjoy your stay here (in additon to meeting many of the community's members).

If I may ask, are you interested in making your own SMW ROM-Hack and/or making resources for people to use? (You could also make resources and hacks for other games as well, but SMW is by far the most popular game to hack here on the site.) Or are you just here to engage with the community and play hacks?
New to the forums. Been on SMW Central for a couple years. I love seeing new hacks come out. The support this community dishes out to it's members is top notch.
hi i am invader destruction i like invader zim

Hi it's been awhile figured I'd reintroduce myself and try to get back into the community it's been about 11 years..

Anyways. I'm Agent Neil Zander I thought I'd check on the community and I've noticed things have changed in a number of ways for the better in both the community it's self and SMW Hacking in general so I wanted to give it another go.

Proud creator of Neil and Araura.

Hey! I remember stumbling upon ancient posts from you (under your old username) dating way back to 2006. It's pretty amazing to see you return after all these years! The site's definitely changed a lot in the past 11 years, and definitely for the better. Hopefully you'll have an easier time making yourself at home this time around!

Hi everyone! I've been a lurker for a long time and been playing Super Mario 64 rom hacks for almost 1.5 years now! I love this site and thank you to all the creators! I play them here

I play your rom hacks here on my youtube:
Yo! I'm a former SMW hacker who's recently been considering getting back into the hobby. I amassed a decent bit of skill under my belt a number of years ago, so I can do many a thing with an SMW ROM.

Also, if you're from Tumblr, you MAY recognize me as, well, friendlybatteringram. On my blog there I do a lot of art, mostly comics...mostly Homestuck comics. Yes, THAT Homestuck. Some of my best comics are ridiculously long, like, just gargantuan. Inquire about them if you're interested I guess!

All that said, I hope to make some great friends here!
Welcome to SMWC! I love your username.

The comics sound pretty interesting, I used to be obsessed with webcomics a few years ago. You mention Homestuck specifically; are you referring to fan works, or did you mean that you've worked on the official Homestuck comic? Either way, that's pretty cool.

Oh nonono I didn't work on the actual comic, that'd be a pipe dream as it stands. But I have done several fan works, yes! Specifically, three very large HS fan comics:

- A Jade/Karkat shipping comic that's also a Midnight Crew shenanigans comic (366 panels)

- A sequel to the previous comic (1,275 panels)

- A fully fledged alternate ending to Homestuck itself (1,700 panels)

If you're further interested I can always provide links! Those three comics are basically my M.O.
I go by Chon (Chondontore) and I've been into SMW Kaizo for a little over a year now. I grew up playing the GBA SMW, and never knew how big the love for this game was until well over a decade later. I'll never forget getting every exit for the first time and seeing the graphics change!

My love for level creation began with Mario Maker and I'm so happy to have finally picked up Lunar Magic. I recently released my first hack (Full Bloom) and I'm already excited to get to work on another project.

I'm still kind of new to the whole SMWC thing. C3 2021 was a lot of fun to scroll through (but I never posted or replied to anything). I guess that's what really piqued my interest in this website as a whole. There's so much more to this website than the "SMW Hacks" section.

I've already met a lot of cool people in this community, and I hope to meet many more over my career in SMW. Much love <3
