Feel free to discuss the contest/collab or ask any questions here, and I will do my best to answer them.

You may also make threads in this forum to show off your level, or to talk with other users. Remember that although this is a contest and there will be a clear winner, the final project will ultimately be a team effort, so try not to get too bloodthirsty!
i love you

In any case, I'll be signing up for this. Besides that, I just hope we can skip worlds immediately. I really don't want to play from bottom to top.
All of the worlds will be unlocked from the start except for the beta ("worst") world, which will be unlocked as a booby prize after completing the hack.
Will you be using AddmusicK in the full hack?

Because I might use a sampled AddmusicM port for AMK.
Most likely, yes.
Oh ok an answered question already.

Another one, is there a screen limit?

E: what about that page made of general decoration for everyone to use idea?
There's no screen limit, but I'll also assign a maximum of 8 sublevels per person as well (this should be more than enough, bordering on too much). Don't make a level that's longer than, say, 4-5 minutes tops.

As for the page of general decorations .. yes, we can do that, but I won't be making it. If someone wants to send me one, or you guys want to make a thread and collaborate on it, be my guest.
How many custom songs are allowed to be in a level entry? I imagine that it wouldn't be a good idea to use 8 songs in a single level.

Just looking over the rules makes it feel so complex. I'll see if I can participate.

Yeah we should have music claims, especially to avoid redundant songs and overwriting songs.

Also, how about adding the fix patches? Specifically for the Piranha Plant, the Bat Ceiling, and NoMoreSpriteLimits.

can we have nomorespritelimits

Please.
NoSpriteLimits is fine.

As for music claims .. I'd say two tracks max per level. I'll set up claims for those as well.
Sounds interesting, count me in. Is there a possibility that I can make an overworld?
yes good

may or may not be in

Half a page = 16 x 8?
Totally in. I love the world themes and the collaboration/competition idea. I also think that people getting assigned levels/sublevels and graphics should prompt them to make the best level they can make (due to that and a lot more peer judgement).

First of all: This is a great idea (I have to say that I already came up with something similar, but simply didn't have the courage to make it real)! I will definitely participate!

Just one question - You said that original GFX manipulations are accepted... How far does it go? Are we only allowed to literally "copy and paste" parts of different GFX into one file, or can we slightly change these as well? Just like this:

Other than that I really hope this is going to work! #w{=D}

MaSeHiHa World 1: http://www.smwcentral.net/?p=section&a=details&id=6055

currently working on: http://www.smwcentral.net/?p=viewthread&t=78239

Sounds great, I think I'll give it a try.

One question - are we allowed to make very slight edits with ExGFX to make a level more fancy or fix graphics issues/cutoffs? Like small palette changes, making blocks less rounded, etc. ?

That's a good question. Are we allowed to recolour things, as well? Or merge things?

And what I was also wondering is, is there a limit how many levels can go into a world? Do we have to say what kind of theme we want to do when signing up?
Good idea. I will try it as good as possible.

Looking forward to this one. Just one question though - Would tileset mixing through ExGFX be allowed? It seems like it should be with the way the rules are set up, but I' rather ask for some confirmation.

Most likely gonna port something with MM7 samples because everything needs something good *shot*
