I asked for a cave stage and right away didn't feel like making one so we have a swamp, with ghosts. It is a shame we aren't using MSU-1 since I had a song picked out.

The water here looks poison but it actually doesn't hurt you.

how those silly boos act

Looking for suggestions on the background. I don't know if I like the palette or even want to use that forest one. Any ideas are welcome!

Mmmm.....those lanterns are very enticing.
You could try mixing the background with some trees.

I don't think I've seen anyone show off their SMW hack with a gif before. For some reason, that stood out to me.

Will there be a ghost house section in this level? A flooded ghost house with purple water and mist would be quite unique in the world of vanilla SMW.

Very nice, I like how you've incorporated the ghost house graphics into a spooky forest setting. The Silly Boos are a cool idea as well. Good work.

Wow, this looks very good especially the setting of the level. What caught my attention was the lanterns, I have never seen them used like that but seem quite good!

I really like the tilesets you mixed. All that stuff fits well and those lanterns look also pretty good. I like the idea with the silly Boos. Are they replacing the rolling rocks?

I have a small progress update.

First area that you enter, lots of ghosts and other spooky enemies.

Inside the manor itself (not sure about the palette)

River of Souls which is the secret exit route.

Like usual any ideas for changes are welcome!

I'm not a fan of the green here. I suggest significantly darkening the green and seeing how that turns out.

That white lantern strikes me as really odd, but that might just be me.

Keep it up, man.

Very unique. I cannot think of any time that I've seen a river of souls type of level, and I like it.

I agree with Noel. That green is ugly. If you want to make it stand out, try yellow, brown, a bluer green. Darker of course.
