<Lui37> I ordered the songs in the jukebox the other day, but I don't know if all of them got the right title
<Lui37> however I'm hoping we can have proper titles for them
<Lui37> for now I have stuff like FOREST LEVEL 1
<Lui37> if we have proper titles there's no ambiguity on songs that are used for multiple purposes
tl;dr: help come up with legit song names for each song. not necessary but would be nice.
Do we want to have a name scheme? I kinda had the eclectic names of Knuckles' Chaotix OST in mind when making these names up, but if these don't work, I can make new ones. It's not like I named them originally, anyway.
BE THE HERO (Boss Battles)
MERCHANT SONG (Desert Map)
ENTRANCE (Desert Level 2)
ROLLER COASTER (Carnival Level 4 Coaster Commotion)
TO THE SKY (Sky/Blimps Level 1)
BELLS OF ETERNITY (Abstract Level 4)
Also, do we want to edit the first post with the names just so people can see them and make more informed suggestions?
I starting coming up with names for the songs I made.
"Flutes of Despair" (Forest/Swamp Castle) "Spring Breeze" (Forest/Swamp Level 4) "Mizumi" (Oriental Level 1) Means lake in Japanese, I think. The song is used in a lake level so it makes sense I guess. "Sea of Mist" (Water Fortress) "Floating" (Sky/Blimps Map) "Ashen Snowfall" (Fire/Ice Level 2) "Bells of Paradice" (Ice Level 1) A bit of a cheesy play on words here, but I think it works lol "Mario on Ice" (Ice Level 2) "Lucid" (Abstract/Dream Level 3) Took a bit of thought to come up with this name, and I think it works particularly well. The word lucid is often associated with certain types of dreams, but it's is also synonymous with the word "clear", which makes sense since the song is used in a level themed around crystals, which are often associated with being clear.
Any suggestions for improving these names are welcome, of course.
Coupla names I came up with, along with half-baked reasons for them.
PLAYFUL BREEZE (Grass Level 4) This song strikes me as so serene and lively at the same time.
TREEHOUSES (Forest Level 2) A whole village of 'em, in fact.
MOONLIT RIVER (Forest Level 4) Fun fact: Slash Man wrote this as a water theme.
DOUKUTSU NO KAZE (Oriental Level 2)
(The Cave's Wind) Google Translate has probably screwed up the grammar for this one. Also Japanese + 2nd wind name. My brain is dying.
HEAVIER THAN AIR (Sky Level 3) Oh what the heck. I'll put it in anyway. I think it fits quite nicely.
RUSH TIME (Rush Time) Why is this not already the name. Fix'd.
LET THE SHOW BEGIN! (Carnival Castle) This is it, ladies and gentlemen. The moment you've all been waiting for! The act to end all acts! Let the show begin!
CALM BEFORE THE STORM (Fire Ice Map) The whole fire-ice world brings to mind the nature of weather fronts. But is it a warm front (fog) or a cold front (actual storms)? In either case, "Weather Front" is a stupid name.
I'll just let them sit here overnight in case someone takes issue with these names.
What's wrong with "heavier than air" anyway? Poetry doesn't need to reflect reality - we're assembling words to allude to a mental image, not to accurately represent reality.
That aside, for Buster Beetle's forest song I was thinking of "All the leaves" - a California Dreamin' reference perhaps. I'm not sure if I have the "right" to be naming this song, especially since the author is still active, but here goes.
