Not to be confused with Super Mario’s Puzzle Projects 1-5, this hack has been long in the works and is finally ready to make its grand unveiling!

A collaboration by SadisticDesigner, Z.RaffleTicket01 and myself.

With this hack we intend to bring every Super Mario World player the extremely fun SMW experience they love from other ROM hacks, while adding in the fun of a puzzle adventure! As he delves into the four insane worlds, Mario will face tricky, mentally stimulating puzzles, which will test even the most skilled of players! Don’t be discouraged! Even beginner players can attempt this game, as the difficulty curve is slow and steady. However, players beware… These puzzles are not a joke… You will not be able to rush straight through the game, but they are not impossible hardcore TAS level. Don't believe me? Take a look at the following.

Over the next couple months we hope to do several streams in which we allow some people to try out a couple of the levels! If you are interested in playing a level, feel free to PM me, and we can find a time to stream it! To kick it off, we will be streaming today at 4:10!! Click the link below to go to my stream.

We are trying to keep this hack as Vanilla as possible, however because of the nature of a puzzle hack we have, and will continue to, put in a couple patches.

So far we have:

- A patch that allows the player to use directional coin blocks multiple times per level. Thus, if the player uses a reset door the directional coins are also reset.

We will be adding Counter Break

the screens look decent, to say the least.

lava outdoors does not fit too well, as well as grey lava. i know you're trying hard to not use custom palettes, but you ought to in order to darken objects such as when you're in a nighttime level, and the color of the lava.

Thanks, and ya palettes are not finalized at all, but we are more concerned with making the puzzles themselves than anything else at this point.

This looks pretty decent. I'm gonna follow this for a bit.
Nice hack! It doesn't seem to abuse the glitches we normally see in some puzzle hacks, though other than the preview videos, it would be more feasible to watch an actual playthrough of the levels themselves so we could take a closer look at it (or then we could wait for a download to come out and beat the puzzles). It also gives the feeling of a breather hack, which is good for beginner players.

In other news, why am I here.
Oh hey, this looks pretty neat. I always enjoy a good puzzle (that one castle in VIP5 is high on my list of favourite SMW levels ever), but sadly most puzzle hacks seem to be either "use p-switch to get shell to get springboard to get p-switch..." trivial pointlessness or rely on performing obscure TAS glitches way beyond my level. The description seems to point to the latter not being the case here, though, and the videos definitely rule out the former, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how this one turns out.

Should I post screen shots from the beta levels? We have not actually completed a large portion of the levels, but we have made a couple more levels that will definitely be in the hack, that are not currently featured in screen shots. These levels are made out of tons of cement blocks and do not look very nice, but there are still some interesting things we could show from them. What do you guys think?

Wow! I can't wait to play this (even though I proably would ragequit in level 1 cause I am super stupid) I love puzzle hacks that aren't kaizo (that's why I made LiPL) That looks really detailed, and proably will took a long time to finish that level. How many levels will there be + how many of them is finished?
Oh wow! Your puzzles seem quite complex so I might take a look at this and play it when it is released. I have always been fond of puzzle hacks.

Well, something like 9 or 10 levels are made, but most of them still need touch ups. Also, one gimmick type thing we are doing with this hack is a bunch of the levels will have a secret exit, sometimes not even leading anywhere. However, you will need to complete all the exits to unlock the final castle. Also I think our goal is 27 levels, but that will probably be very hard to hit. I am really hoping it happens though because we have some pretty awesome ideas we want to try with this hack.

New water level:



Here is an early version of a new level! It is kind of small, but deals with two small rooms connected by a pipe. It's pretty cool, though there is a lot of back and forth action in it.

There are a couple kaizo-ish parts, however if you run into these instances, you are doing the solution wrong. That being said, there are a couple hard jumps later in the hack, but I feel that is justified by the fact that later levels should be harder than earlier levels.

Ya, we will probably do that. I will probably leave pallet fixing to Zach once we get the levels all done. But for now our focus is just making levels.

Also: New Screens!

These screens are from one of the very last levels, the second half to the last ghost house. It is a vertical room with layer two that you can control with screen scrolling.

Looking forward to see how layer 2 is used in that room of the Ghost House. The level seems quite challenging from what I saw on the pics (even though they don't actually show the command in action).
