Oh yeah, I can't insert Drunk As I Like because one of the BRRs it requires is a piccolo sample, but it's not in any of the sample folders.

Jimmy, you should probably update the YI AM download to include the fixed local samples folder.
A few updates, the contest is almost 40 days into it and the deadline is coming up in 26ish days. It still isn't too late to pick up Golden Egg and learn it now that finals week should be over. I hope you all had a good finals week and now are working for the possible 1st place badge for this contest.

Also, we now have 3 official judges, 2 of them being extremely experienced with YI levels be it Nintendo or custom. The third one is me. Hopefully you'll enjoy who is judging them and will be glad to get some great criticism to continue on if you wish.

Also 2 songs have yet to be made for the contest and I need to get that process sped up now.

Hello,

I just had some questions: I hope the judges aren't the same as last year except for TLMB b/c he seemed like he was fair, but my level seems kind of long. Are the judges going to be overcritical if the level is really long or as long as it's fun, do I have a good chance of doing well? Like I said before, I don't expect to win, but then someone does a Let's Play Kamek's Revenge, and they like insult and make fun of my level.

I don't want to spoil it, but like I said one of the rooms is kind of a surprise b/c I don't want to give it away, but I'm afraid people will make fun of my entry again b/c they always do, but I feel like I worked really hard on it, and I feel like this year's entry is better than last year's. I just have a few things I have to fix, but I think it took me like half an hour to finish the whole level, and I tried to make it interesting. I didn't play Dr. Kaizo Mario, but one person stated that my level might be a little bit frustrating so just be patient. I also included a message block to provide some help. Should I post a few screenshots? I wanted to get some feedback, but I think my previous screenshots got deleted for some reason.

When you put something on the internet, thats whats gonna happen. However, I think you may be misinterpreting somebody's intentions. If your earlier post is any indication, you are referring to raocow, who laughs at pretty much every single thing, ever. It's not supposed to be meanspirited at all, thats just what he does.

I know. He has a nice laugh, and he gave some good comments too, but I wasn't only talking about him. It just feels like people will be overcritical about my level, but I guess that's their opinion, and I worked really hard on it.

You should seriously use it if your using the original version, no more distortion cello nonsense. Special thanks to Pinci, Harumi, and Jimmy.


Also, a little over 2 weeks left, If you want to enter the contest, now is the time to start if you want to finish in time. People who have already submitted their level, you can still send in revisions if needed. (I haven't played any entry/seen any entry).

Also, from my perspective, it looks like SMWC is gonna beat talkhaus in entries by a good amount. Rally the troops, talkhaus.

I worked really hard on my entry. I will probably post a video in the Video and Screenshots thread really soon. I hope some people play it and give me some feedback.
So how does the YI Addmusic work relative to the SMW one(s)?
Specifically, can I port a thing to SMW, running it through the AM4 Player every 45 seconds to see if I have the notes correctly timed and all that, then when I'm done change the instruments to the YI instruments I want to use and have a working YI music port? Because apparently it is of the utmost importance that my level have the Turbo Tunnel music for some reason, but I'm not good enough at the whole music porting thing to do it without playing it back like 400 times in the process.
I've redacted my entry because it sucked and YI isn't really that fun to hack to me. That and laziness kept me from redoing it.

This is mostly possible - only difference is, you have no ADSR command which SMW has, and you need to convert any used commands (and instruments) to YI's. After that, it should work.
4 days left until the contest ends, wrap up your entries and hope for the best. I can't wait to see the submissions page get to page 2 soon...
