JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

I have to say, I wasn't expecting Bites The Dust to be foiled so easily. After it was hyped up so much for several episodes straight, I thought the solution would be more impressive then . The rest of the episode easily compensated though, with one of the most action packed and creative fights to come out of this season of Jojo yet.

Hayato taking the explosion in order to give Josuke a chance to heal Okuyasu... my God, does that kid have some serious balls (even if he knew Josuke could heal him afterwards, I'm not sure how many middle school students would have the courage to do something like that). Speaking of Hayato, was there any particular reason why could see Stray Cat's air bullets while Josuke himself seemingly couldn't? And I find it hard to believe is actually dead, but I guess we'll find out next week.

Overall, great episode! Was on the edge of my seat nearly the whole time...

I think it was kinda clever, playing with something as insignificant as Josuke oversleeping.
And being overconfident and slipping up when he can least afford it have always been Kira's biggest weaknesses, that's how pretty much all of it started after all.

I'm not a subtitle reader so I don't watch Jojo's Not Very Average Quest but I did find that "OH MY GOD" compilation on YouTube funny.

This episode was great as usual, but there's a few things I don't get. For instance, just one episode ago it was said that Kira couldn't detonate a bomb that it was close to him for fear of getting caught in the blast, yet this week he has no problem with detonating ones that were within punching distance of him and Josuke (right before showed up).

Also, Yoshihiro somehow like an awful stretch even by the standards of this show. Not only is it unclear when he ever got there (which was even brought up in-story) but it strains credibility that he could be without the kid noticing anything. I mean, I guess he could've been whispering or something, but still. It's one of those things that seems like a really cool twist when revealed but when you think about it for like five seconds it becomes obvious that it makes nearly no sense at all. It did make for one heck of a badass moment when Josuke tricked Kira into directing the bomb at , though.

Also interesting how this episode leaves us off with Kira at his lowest moment, critically injured and surrounded by all the heroes ready to give a righteous ass-kicking. Given that we still have one more to go, it's fair to assume he's going to somehow turn things around again before being ultimately defeated, but it's kind of curious how the cliffhanger has us wondering how the villain could get out of the latest tough situation, rather then the heroes for once. Just food for thought.

As someone who has read the entirety of the manga, I also hope they won't stop here. I personally find their work incredibly faithful to the manga and I'd love to see them adapt later arcs like Steel Ball Run, which is my favorite.


Kira is definitely one of my favorite villains. The story shows lots of intimate parts of his life and the character's psychology is really well made. He also has that strange charisma you only find in crazy villains. I guess that's why we can find him more interresting than the heroes: you know how smart and determined he is, and you don't want to see him give up just like that.

This was a good finale. Kira didn't turn the tables as much as I expected (I thought he'd actually manage to ) so most of the episode was instead a wrap-up of what our heroes (and heroines) got up to once Kira was beaten. I have to say, after all the cast has been through over some 39 episodes, just seeing them relax and goof off in silly situations for a little while is pretty damn cathartic. Josuke's shit-eating grin when he pulled that prank on his dad was hilarious, especially right after Joseph had been talking about the 'golden heart of Morioh'. Though, judging by Joseph's little smile at the end, it's fair to say that he remembers how he was pretty much the same way back in the day...

For some reason, I was sure throughout most of the series that Hayato was going to have to sacrifice himself in some way (likely in order to stop Bites The Dust). To the point that, when he ultimately came out alive I was actually kind of surprised (and relieved...). Well, he did sort of sacrifice himself in taking Killer Queen's explosion, but that didn't really count since Josuke put him back together immediately afterwards. Just goes to show how snippets of spoilers can be very misleading, I suppose.
