Tip: Avoid "item babysitting". Do not force the player to drag P-Switches or springboards all around the level. This is not fun, nor does it make for interesting "puzzles".Not logged in.
What Happened To SMWCP2?

I've said a few times before that I'm against the idea of a third project, but at the same time, running the VLDC collab gave me hope that we can actually pull through fairly easily if the project is of a smaller scale. That's really SMWCP2's problem - we were way, way too ambitious from the get-go (and don't get me wrong, we've somehow pulled it off and made it as far as we have, but it's been very painful to get here).

In short, if there is a SMWCP3, it will not be nearly on the same level as this one in terms of complexity.

Also, is there anything I can do to help with bug fixing?

At this point, probably not. The only real bugs left are more ASM-based than anything.

World 4A: Water/Beach
World 4B: Desert

Why did we group these two together, again? I don't recall the original plans we had for them, but they both work as standalone worlds, with their own castle, boss(although 4A isn't as relevant plotwise), and enough levels to work that way.

I'm pretty sure the reason behind it was that since you had the choice to skip world 2 or 3, world 4 should be made larger and vary the theme within it slightly (I see it being akin to SMB3 World 2 and 3, connected with the concept of beach levels)

Pretty sure that's it. I remember looking at one of he old threads in this forum about the overworld and whatnot not long ago, and I remember something like this being mentioned. I/We may have to check again, though.

Believe it or not, I actually am (attempting to) work on a hack. Just very slowly.
@OP -- Keiran put a stop to it all.

(can we spread this rumor, it sounds like fun)
Trust me, there are people who will believe that rumor and get all mad.

But seriously, are we going to do another December 31 release?

I think the SMWCP series should actually always be an on going thing.

Of course it would be wise for everyone to take a short break in-between making these things, but I think that these hacks should be a testament of the passion and skill that this community has to offer.

However, I think that the projects should be made such that they could be produced in a reasonable time frame. For example 2 years max because if a project lasts too long people loose interest in it.

Also the leader of the hacks should pass that leadership onto new members so that no one gets too burned out.

Since SNN and Lightvane did leadership roles on these last two games then maybe a new leader should take care of the next one, SMWCP3.

I also believe that if any of the levels need to be adjusted or changed that higher level people in the hack should be able to make those changes on the fly without the approval of the original level maker.

I say this because sometimes people make levels and sometimes they have flaws.

My only request is that when ACTUAL beta testing begins I would like for someone to give me a PM and tell me about it because I can't always check up on the status on the project.
If we ever make an SMWCP3, it will more than likely not be for a loooong time. With how much went into the making of it (heck, it started early 2011 and we're still not finished), along with the other collabs actively being worked on, I think everyone's pretty tired out by now.

Not to mention it has been stated several times before it will likely not be a thing at all.

^ This.
In addition to the fact that a ridiculously long development time was spent on this hack(And also the first one), it's unlikely that we'll be able to top this hack's likely success. We don't want to keep making new hacks that are lacking in quality. Even then, what's to say that there won't be a new development in the midst of SMWCP3's production that revolutionizes SMW hacking? So SMWCP3 will probably not be even started in development for another six months(to a year) after SMWCP2's release.
Thank you for making Outrageous Mario World the 11th most downloaded hack on the site!

Well, I honestly don't really care if a SMWCP3 is going to be made or not. I'm really concerned with SMWCP2 because I've literally been looking forward to play it since 2011... that was 3 years ago... lol. I just gave up and spoiled myself of the hack by looking at all of the levels and the overworlds and stuff because I figured that I'm never going to play it. I have one question, and one question only, is this ever going to be finished? I mean, I don't really mind if it doesn't release this year, but I mean it has to at least be released next year (2015) because I'm losing interest in this now and I've been looking forward to play for such a while.
Recent Hacks:
- Hazardous Halloween
- Sweet Land
- Super Mario Colors
Other SMW Playlists

Believe me, I want this thing done more than anyone else.
We are basically only waiting on 3 things.

Once these final things are done, we can start beta testing and get this thing out.
