Give us your laptop model number it can be found on the back.
Once you do so I'll dig around for a replacment part.
Just to be sure this is lcd damage, reboot the machine and go into bios setup.
If the black line is there, reboot into safemode of windows.
Turn on a lamp and make note of the blot is still there.
If its there from a cold boot into loading windows...
