MUCH better than your S2 Special Stage port.
Really the old port was bad, but in the meantime I improved a lot.
I will have another update later.#tb{:j}
My Ports
I will give you updates to my Sonic 2 and Sonic & Knuckles songs so you can put them in. If you got other requests you want me to do let me know.
My 2014 Summer C3 and Winter C3 Thread is open for your viewing pleasures.
Open for music porting with MIDIs.

Well, might as well join this. Plus, its a pretty good excuse to finish a Gene Gadget Zone (Act 1) remix I was trying to do, so... here it is!

Gene Gadget Zone Act 1 (MMX Style)

If there is any need for a update, please tell me what I have to do so I can fix it.

Well, might as well post another one. XD

Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Launch Base Zone (Act 1) (SNES Style)

In here, I said it as SNES style because while I did mostly use Megaman X samples, I also used SD3`s bell sample for the percussion. Also, I used the ``GO!´´ sample from the original song to make it way more accurate, but if it isnt needed, then I can try and change it.

Also, about the second half of the song (you know, the half starting at 0:16 in the SPC?), which sample should I use? I have no idea on which sample could be best to emulate that part, so that`s why that part kinda sucks. XD

I might try to do Angel Island Zone, I'm surprised that one is not done.

Some of my stuff is on Soundcloud:

I'm still not good at making loops with an intro, but IIRC, AIZ has no intro and loops from the start.

EDIT: Done!

The RAR's bad, apparently. Just store the SPC in SMWC's My Files section.

Hmm, really? All right, then, I`ll do that now.

Also, I`ll try and see if I can make ports of Azure Lake (Sonic 3) and Mystic Cave 2P (Sonic 2), but people already tried doing ports of those and I dont want to post mine if they are bad. Is it okay?

That should be fine (sorry I replied so late).
This thread is a month dead.. I'm working on Under Ground Zone, but Gamma V, you should update the first post.

it's been dead for over a year after gamma's last post in this thread
Yeah, I think I`m gonna claim and try to do Rusty Ruin now, just so this doesnt fall into the abyss (plus I`m interested to do this song too and how well I do in it so... yeah).

Well, just for the sake of it, here`s a WIP of Act 1 of Rusty Ruin. Again, if there`s anything I can do to improve this, I`ll start working on it right away.

- it's missing a lot of notes
- the samples are loud, especially the square. is everything just playing at full blast?
- that one guitar sample sounds really gross. i know what it was trying to do, but
- why does it sound like your adsr/gain/whatever values are set so that the sample never, ever, ever ends? needs more decay bro
- not required but panning is your friend

-Yeah, that`s because of the MIDI itself. I dunno if its just a problem with me removing the chords, but I dunno how to fix that tbh.
-Well, I did took out some of the volume, but if its still loud, I`ll try to fix it.
-Actually, that`s Street Fighter 2`s sitar I used. I dunno what to change for, though.
-Well, I just kinda left it without ADSR because I thought the squares would sound weird in the melody with it, but then I remembered that`s only when you lower the attack and the other values. I`ll try to put another square with ADSR and see if it works.
-Yeah, I`ll admit, that was a fault on my part, but since this is a WIP I didnt care much for it. I`ll add some panning the next time I update, though. lol

EDIT: Well, here is what I could do for now:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/51p71u3u4ca0s4b/Sonic%203D%20Blast%20-%20Rusty%20Ruin%20Zone%20%28Act%201%29%20%28SNES%20Style%29.spc?dl=0

Tbh, I dunno what would be more fitting instruments. I tried my best to make the song as ``ruiny´´ as possible while giving it the same funk the original had, but I dunno what would be the best instruments for that feeling.

These sounds are really good and close for SNES instruments.

I've got the Sonic 1, 2 & 3 SFX and instruments ripped to WAV and the sustain (loop points) can be configured, and maybe these tracks could be made with the original samples and tempo and stuff.

Well, that`s pretty nice! I mean, I do have a hefty amount of percussion instruments from various Sega Genesis games at my disposal, including Sonic 1/2/3 (thank TheLegendOfRenegade for that), but not the actual instruments. I dont know if you should be posting this here, though (I may definitely be wrong on that), but nice offer nonetheless.

Also, just to keep consistency, here`s a V.3 of my previous Rusty Ruin port:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/mqu857597b6akq4/Sonic%203D%20Blast%20-%20Rusty%20Ruin%20Zone%20%28Act%201%29%20%28SNES%20Style%29%20%28V.%203%29.spc?dl=0

Nothing much changed, I just tried adjusting the volume, putting some decay on the notes (after I found out how to actually do it) and making the drums a bit stronger. So its more of a revision tbh. Still need to find a way to get the notes like the original or change the sitar sample, though...

The actual instruments have been ripped into WAV, but it takes some time to identify them because they all have just a two digit hex address as a file name, and a lot of them sound similar so finding out which song they were used in, identifying a note played and then going through all the samples and putting them in the correct musical note (if the note C5 can't be found) and identifying which does what and where it goes will take some patience.

I'll make a .txt soon of every song and which sample it uses on which channel of each song, starting with the popular Sonic 3 songs. With the text file completed, anyone can make the samples and ripped MIDIs from the game compatible with AMK and know which sample goes where.

I started making a "Show Me Love" remix using just samples straight from the Sonic 3 ROM and will port it to SMW at some point, I just don't know what it will sound like in BRR, but I'm using what ever space is available after building my hack to use the highest quality samples that will fit.

Anyway, here's "Show Me Love" using just Sonic 3 instruments and SFX so far.

That sounds really good. The instruments were very clear, do you think it will work on SNES hardware like that?

Well, the instruments will probably sound very muddy (since I tried using Sonic 3 percussion before, and it sounded like crap), but if you can figure out how to make those samples work in BRR form, then you`ll be just fine (it`ll be pretty difficult, though). And thanks for that! Well, there is a reason why its in SPC format, so yeah, it will work on the SNES`s hardware, pretty much (or at the very least a emulator will work with that).
