Hi Guys, JaphethMario21st. This is my current project Luigi's Story Saga. It is a choconilla hack. It has custom blocks, ExGFX graphics, maybe custom music.
Beginning Story of the hack.
After the events of the original Super Mario World, Princess Peach is been rescue. The yoshis invite them for a party, but Princess Peach have some errands to do in the Mushroom Kingdom. So Mario and Luigi went to the party. After the Party ended, a terrible news has come. The Elder Yoshi been murdered and the magic key is been stolen. But at least they find the letter and it is from Kning Boo, they only have two weeks to stop him. Then Later Luigi is the middle of nowhere.
Tiki Tiki Beach seems to be quite well made though I would suggest that you avoid placing to many objects close together (especially decoration) as confusion can arise at times. I cannot really see anything wrong in the screenshots you have presented except that in the item box (or what used to be it since it is not a "box" anymore), the bottom tiles are cutoff. Add some outline to the lower part of them.
Hey, this actually looks neat! I like the tileset of this level and the palettes look quite pleasing, although I find the palette of the clouds to look a little weird with a blue background area. I find it a little weird to use plants onto pipes like that though, it's not a very nice decoration idea at all IMO but you don't have to change it.
Waiting for more progress from this hack for now, keep working!
Ooh, those aesthetics are actually really pleasing to look at! I definitely like the way the level is designed as well too, it looks great; I guess my comment can also be applied to 1-1 as well. I'll be watching this hack
Okay? This is very good! The aesthetics are lovely, it looks like you put a lot of effort in it. My only complain is the plants on the water floating. I find it a bit weird. Just my opinion though, so it still is up to you to change it or not. Also, as Mors already said, maybe you can add a HDMA to spice it up a little, hmm?
About the level design itself, it looks just awesome. I really love your enemy placement, however.. it is a bit too hard for the second level in my opinion. There are lots of enemies, (note that there is nothing wrong with it) and not much places to rest. However, I may be wrong here cause obviously, you didn't show all of the level. So yeah, that's all.
This hack is looking amazing so far! The level design is looking pretty solid and the aesthetics are impressive. I'm also really digging the combination of graphics you have going on within these levels. Though there's quite a lot of decoration at least within the first level shown you have the game play to prove the hack is not all about looking fancy which I like.
I really dig your aesthetics, they're very nice. Your levels also look interesting. Yeah, the first level has a lot of decoration. Try to avoid overusing it to reduce confusion or at least you can make them darker to avoid "eye-confusion". I think the brick outlines can be dark brown instead o black. Maybe they'll look a bit nicer.
Small suggestion: Make the red/blue platforms flip their tops back when you hit the ON/OFF switch - that'd make more sense for the player. That aside, I hope you make a nice usage of this gimmick for this level!
Oh, and you don't need to remove the plants. In real life, there are plants that actually float on the water.
Nice idea indeed! Also another tip: If you can put something that shows if the on-off switch is set to on or off, it would be pretty helpful. Or you can just use exanimation as Mirann said.

Nice idea with the bouncing mushrooms. As for the ON/OFF, you can change something in the status bar with ExAnimation or make the mushroom palette change depending on the ON/OFF switch status. You can also use the flopping idea Mirann mentioned.
@Mors: But these are the vanilla graphics =P I don't really think that these are good, but still, I think that the creator wants to keep it vanilla for the most part.
dang, that's pretty nice! your palettes are great, and your level design looks very fun to play.
the sdy hdma looks fascinating, while everything else matches with their respective ambiances. i also like how the brick blocks, the question blocks, and the message box have a different squarish shape to them. what sticks out the most are the combined tilesets. in my opinion, those bush dots are a bit too dark (in the 1st screenshot behind luigi).
Everything looks like a lot of fun here, keep up the good work. Though, the on/off switch gimmick seems unnecessary to add, I'm sure the level operates fine without it.
