Interesting regarding the colors. I rather fancied the eye-searing red that dominated much of the original map. But now, you're right, it's more of a toned down puke color that dominates, though it's probably just the solid color paths tricking my eyes. I loved the original map in that it was an ugly
mess but now it seems more of an
ugly mess. Hmm, maybe that's the point. Plus that statement probably made little sense.
I still think unfocused/almost transparent paths would mesh best given the map's background. And this is just me thinking out loud, but it could also be interesting to make use of exit tiles to break up pathways, adding to the general chaos of the map.
Regarding the number signs denoting specific numbers: what if you discolored some of them to the blue palette so they're not all bright white? For instance, the 20 on 420 or one of the 6's on the 666. Or maybe offset one of the 6's. Just a thought. Honestly, I think three number jokes make for overkill, but perhaps if they blended in with the disorder of the map, it would seem a part of the fun.
