, I just ignored it because it didn't seem like the general reason people were bothered by the map.


idk I think this contest shouldn't be this serious, and making that submap "cohesive" with everything else just removes all the charm it has.

Anyway just put a huge pixelated peach face there and give the girl some clothes, because then boom it's related to mayro and people can't complain about "N-N-NSFW!!!!". ~Problem solved~

Plus the shape of the muncher stems looks weird, but if you want to make it as bad as possible just leave it. :P (Also needs more floating/stacked.)

I'm alright with the 69 tbh, it shouldn't be a problem I guess. *shrug*

Also, why not use the same X tiles you used for the swastika instead of those green tiles for the path? Other than that it looks good...I mean, terrible. If we're going to put numbers and whatnot, we definitively need a 666, but I don't have any issues with the 69 for that mater.

Interesting regarding the colors. I rather fancied the eye-searing red that dominated much of the original map. But now, you're right, it's more of a toned down puke color that dominates, though it's probably just the solid color paths tricking my eyes. I loved the original map in that it was an ugly mess but now it seems more of an ugly mess. Hmm, maybe that's the point. Plus that statement probably made little sense.

I still think unfocused/almost transparent paths would mesh best given the map's background. And this is just me thinking out loud, but it could also be interesting to make use of exit tiles to break up pathways, adding to the general chaos of the map.

Regarding the number signs denoting specific numbers: what if you discolored some of them to the blue palette so they're not all bright white? For instance, the 20 on 420 or one of the 6's on the 666. Or maybe offset one of the 6's. Just a thought. Honestly, I think three number jokes make for overkill, but perhaps if they blended in with the disorder of the map, it would seem a part of the fun.
It's terrible (in that its great) but I would change the colours to make it more terrible (and by that I mean more eye pleasing).

To be honest, I don't really like the solid green border around the muncher image. The rest of the map is delightfully disorderly, so why are all the level tiles neatly arranged in a square formation in the center of the screen? It seems incongruous, somehow. I guess arguably it's another way to communicate the "worst" aspect, but those green paths completely dominate the image in much the same way the original manji did. It's hard to focus on anything else.

I don't know, it just seems like a missed opportunity to do silly things with the level tiles, like putting one of them in the area that doesn't actually show in-game, or putting one on a pipe or number sign tile, or making one invisible, stuff like that.

i'd say the muncher dominates, though you cant tell since you havent seen it in animation

will see what i can do though (maybe make the muncher green and the stars could be the paths?)
I like AxemJinx's idea (remove the border), though I'm trying to figure out how you could make that work without making the map impossible to navigate. If there was some way to communicate which direction the player could go on each level tile, that may work.

..this is assuming the idea also involves haphazardly scattering the levels around the map, of course.
